Dear Tom,

Mahatma Gandhi was known in India as the great Raja yogi, raja yoga being
the yoga of action, of selfless service. Harsha and others can probably
tell you a lot more about raja yoga. But it emphasizes the performance of
action in service to others (and making yourself a cipher, as Gandhi said)
as a means of attaining liberation.
