Maureen:
Hi, nobody really understands what the experience is like unless they
have been there. I have not, however, I saw my daughter go through it
with a husband and several boyfriends. She hid it from us until she
could no longer hide it. Once she could see that she was attracted to
this type of individual it stopped. She told me that it was very hard to
see because she didn't want to believe that she would want to be with
this type individual.When it repeated over and over though she had to
look at what it was. The type is very exciting and powerful, sexually
attractive and very dramatic to the extreme. No middle road, just raw
power. She told me they show two sides one being really fun, stimulating
but controlling, and then the real dark side which was total power and
control. After some real scary things came down she had to really stop
and look. When she asked what it was that she was doing she was shown.
This is quite a powerful realization. Don't get me wrong, I am not
saying that it is ok or that she was to blame...but she had to see there
was an aspect of that personality type that was exciting to her. No
more.
She married a man who is wonderful to her. They have been together now
for 7 years.
I told her it wasn't bad or wrong, but just a lesson and a very powerful
