I will put in my feeling about this occurence in regards to sleep that
will change but still exist as you go on in the awakening. There is a
state when the body is asleep but the mind is wide awake. So it seems
that you are not sleeping at all. In fact, it seems like you could have
your eyes open and be totally awake. However, in consciousness comes the
realization it is part of the illusion that you go through in
understanding the different levels of consciousness.
I have experienced many many nights when it would appear that I never
even closed my eyes let alone entered sleep, but I recognize this is a
state where you are still in a state of sleep only it is not the one you
recognize as sleep because you don't lose awareness which makes you
think you are not sleeping.
I can't say this is what you are experiencing, however, it is a state
of consciousness that is quite interesting because you think you are
awake. This can be brought on by your awareness of the breath, you
become so connected or unifed with the movement of the breath and the
body is so alert... that you assume that you never go into sleep. This
is when the mind/body awareness is so acute that it notices everything.
What is interesting about this state, you can get up and go to work and
continue through the day exactly as though you were asleep all night, no
difference at all. And this can continue in the same movement for days
it doesn't make any difference. This is what I call body asleep
mind/consciousness/ awareness awake. The Monroe teachings describe this
as a state of focus which he calls Focus 10.
Since spiritual awakening is about remembering yourself and becoming
conscious of that in you which is consciousness, this is a part of
breaking away at the illusion of what life is. The mind says you must
sleep x amount of hours a day in order to function and be productive in
the day. Since time is an illusion, and consciousness transcends mind
and thought, all of the thought forms that are accepted in the
time/space belief system is basically flawed since it is all transcended
through self realization.
One must detach from these thought forms because they are only real if
you stay in the belief system of the mainstream awareness. You move away
from this collective belief system, one becomes detached
from the belief systems in order to enter deeply into the union.
What you describe is the entering of this realization where you are
still quite uncomfortable with it. The agitated mind only causes
confusion. Instead go into it knowing that it is perfect and by turning
it over to God/Higher self you surrender to it. It will change through
this.
