I've had the 'phone ringing once' one, on and off for months - and I
have no idea what it means either! I do know it sounds real enough to
fool me for a few seconds... Thinking about it, it generally happens
when I'm daydreaming, and it definitely has a grounding effect -
snaps me back into 'here and now' - so that might be why I'm getting
it, but that wouldn't explain yours if you're in bed at the time.
Sorry I can't be any help, but at least you're not alone!
