Out of curiosity, I looked at the newspapers when I went shopping  
today; as far as I can tell, he lost his job not because of his  
belief in reincarnation, but because he said, in public, that  
disabled people must have done something bad in a previous life and  
the disability was a punishment for it.  
Whether this version of the story is true, I neither know nor care. 
But I'm fairly sure that, in this country at least, a belief in  
reincarnation is unlikely to result in losing one's job... but then,  
I'm persistently ridiculously naive. And determined to stay that way
