Through our incarnation cycle we shift between male and female physical
bodies numerous times. But our inner Self is not both; its either male or
female. So, when the inner Self becomes more and more manifested in our
daily life, there's a tendency to gravitate towards one sex in our
incarnations. This is especially through during the last incarnations. It's
dangerous to catecorize absolute, since each man and woman is a unique
star, with it's unique role in the Universe. When gravitating towards one
sex, the role You filled in your opposite sex isn't filled anymore. But
nature needs balance, so somehow, somewhere, some place in these universe,
another soul must gravitate towards the opposite sex in order to close the
gap, bring balance, undertake the responsibility, the position you once
represented through your opposite sex incarnations. This is how I
understand twin souls.

Each person is a unique star,
not duplicated by any other star
in the Universe.
When reborn into our Self,
a new star is born,
unique, loved and unreplaceable.

Blessings

I have been asked to describe the methods used by the Anthroposophic
doctors that helped me to stabilize the effects of my sudden kundalini
awakening.

Last summer I was experiencing intense disorientation. I was having many
bouts of extreme mood swings coupled with feeling very light physically. I
could not feel my body. When I would touch myself, it felt as if there
were very little there. It was as if I had lost density to my body. Along
with this I felt intense internal vibrations and the sensation of feeling
as if I was going to leave my body. I literally had to hold onto things
and/or keep moving my body or sing or talk continuously just to feel my own
physicality. Does that make sense? On my own, I had an urge to swing at a
nearby playground. As I began swinging back and forth I let my head fall
back and I felt an enormous "thud" in my body. Whatever had left, had
returned and I felt heavy again.

After searching for help with this and other related kundalini problems, I
finally found these two Anthroposophic Doctors in Ann Arbor Michigan. Their
names are Dr. Quentin McMullen and Dr. Molly Leard. They are a married
couple who are both traditional medical doctors plus specialists in what is
called Anthroposophic Medicine. Their number is: 734-998-1370. And their
email is: 100646.541ATnospamcompuserv.com in case anyone wants to contact them.
I don't know if this email address is current.

Rudolph Steiner, an Austrian philosopher and educator, influenced many
fields, medicine being just one of them. I would urge anyone who has
experienced Kundalini awakening to read Steiner's books. They are hard to
find but you can contact the Anthroposophic Press for a catalog:
518-851-2054. He is difficult to understand but reading his stuff is a
spiritual experience.

I found his books: Knowledge of Higher Worlds, Occult Science (now called
Esoteric Science), and Theosophy to be extremely descriptive and useful.
The only thing to be careful of is that Steiner was speaking to people
around the turn of the century and he does not speak directly to the needs
of people who have actually released this type of energy too quickly. But
his writing is the most descriptive I have found on the subject.

Anyway, the doctors prescribed herbal medicine for me called Stibium. It
is a form of Metal Therapy. This energy medicine is used to counterbalance
the overactivity of different parts of the body. The doctors said I was
too excarnated (obviously the opposite of incarnated) as I had been pulled
out of my body too quickly and too far and had not been able to get back
in. My body actually lacks density because my astral body tends to
separate too easily.

The Stibium has helped a great deal. I have felt calmer, less disoriented
and the sensations in my head have subsided. The doctors also ordered me
to stay away from emotional situations and people which could cause my
astral body to leave. They also prescribed specific drawing exercises and
told me to eat some meat. This part has been tough since I was a
vegetarian for 22 years but as soon as I began eating meat, I felt heavier
and much more grounded.

They also told me to avoid getting too hot as this will also make my astral
body separate. I find I am much less confused when the weather is cold.

If anyone has any questions I will be happy to try to answer them.
Steiner's philosophy is amazing. I truly encourage all of you to take a
look at it. He also began the Waldorf school movement for those of you who
have heard of that.

Wow, Debbie. Your story was fascinating. I read your first posting and
my thought about your intense energy experience with this man was that
he must be your twin flame or twin soul. Then in your second posting,
you mentioned the same thing.

There's not a lot written about twin flames or twin souls. I met the man
who I think is my twin in the past year and have tried to research the
subject myself. The only comprehensive book I read was written by Pat
Joudry called Twin Souls. Have you read this? It had some good
information. I would also be happy to pass on some other material I have
gathered through Internet friends. If you are interested, let me know.

I am beginning work on a book about Twin Flames based on personal
experiences and the research I have gathered. If you or anyone else on
the k-list is interested in sharing stories of twin soul meetings, I
would love to hear more for possible inclussion in the book.

Debbie, I think you are doing very well considering all you have went
through. It's damn tough sometimes to transition into awareness. You are
a strong person.

Hello Chuck:

I have practiced Raja Yoga for several years. As a result, I had a K
awakening. It took several years for it to happen.

I have also experienced some of what you described. There were several
stages that I went through which I now understand to be mental, emotional
and physical cleansing. Stuff that I thought I had handled and resolved
would come up and I had to deal with it. Except when it came, my defence
mechanism has been sufficiently relaxed from the mediation and I was very
much sensitive. By continuing to meditate, I was able to see them for what
they really are, my own creation. With that awareness, I was able to relax
and let what ever happened happen.

What I found very useful is a combination of a mental, physical and
emotional state. Which are, an empty mind, a relaxed body and what I term
"grateful emotion." individually, each of these states are very beneficial
collectively however, they accelerate the process of transformation. Of
course one can write several volumes on each of these states, specially
regarding an empty mind. They are not that difficult when they are practiced
properly.

Good Luck

Samuel

Subject: Anybody have experience with Raja-Yoga?

Hi,
My name is Chuck. I've been on this list for about 3 weeks. What I've
seen here surprises me.
I expected to find more information on 'how to' raise kundalini. It seems
most of you are experiencing
random occurances rather than directed ones. Is this the norm? Do most
of you do any meditation
or yoga?

I've read Vivekananda's 'Raja Yoga' (His translation and explanation of
Patanjali). It is wonderfully
direct and concise. Both Patanjali and Vivekananda do a great job of
cutting out the 'klap-trap' that others
use to describe Raja Yoga. Many authors use so much imagery that the
neophyte (me) can't see the
trees (main ideas) because of the forest (irrelevant/extraneous confusing
information). I strongly
recommend this book to anyone.

My understanding of it is sufficient that I've begun to meditate every day
(twice when I can). I've found the following
things happening. I'm not sure if they are related to k, enlightenment.,
etc :

Soon after I started meditating (but not during meditation) I found myself
confronted by things from my past.
These are things that are my 'darkest' moments - I have had to face the
greatest failures of my life. Things I
thought I had dealth with and put to rest. They hit like hammers, and
really made me wonder about the value
of my life to date. (There are no crimes, just failures, educational,
relationships, etc.). I think have
dealt with these (again) and given them closure. I'm wondering if there
is some mechanism that is forcing
me to look at what I think I am, and then find out that it is wrong. **
Does this happen to others? Is it what I
should be expecting? I think it is and I would like confirmation from
someone who has been there. **

I've felt (while meditating) a 'rush' that seems to start about 6 inches
below my neck (in back, inside) that goes
up the back of my head (but inside) and goes to the top of my head, then
kind of fans out then flows(more slowly)
over the front of my face. The feeling lingers for a while and then fades.

I've had a couple of similar events while not meditating. I had the same
'rush'. Then I felt almost dizzy and
the world seemed different, not quite surreal, just different somehow.
One time I was in the kitchen. The electric
stove was on. I could feel the heat. I felt that I *really* could absorb
the radient heat energy and use it.
I have no idea how I could use it, I just felt sure that I could. I don't
know how to reconsile this - is it imagination?
is it real?, is it psychosis? Is it just my mind playing tricks with me?

As a catholic I had a *hard time* convincing myself that I'm not going to
be 'cast into hell' for doing this. One time
as I was meditating I was suddenly JOLTED out of it with the the very very
loud (but not shouting) words 'Not a Christian'.
This startled me to the point where I took a sharp breath in and jumped in
my chair. I don't know if it is my
subconsious my resisting this practice or if it was a warning. I've
resolved this issue this way. As I begin to
meditate I ask God to "Help me if I'm doing right, Forgive me if I'm doing
wrong, and please help me know
which way is right.".

One other side note: I noticed that this list was started by a 'Richard
Satin'. I didn't bother me, but I couldn't
help note how close 'Satin' is to 'Satan'. I also noted that 'Angelique
Serpent' also conjures up an image of
Lucifer (the fallen angel) as a serpent - 'the angelic serpent'. (I know,
I know - the kundalini serpent fire is what you
are getting at). It just seemed an odd coincidence.

I want to experience things that will let me know that enlightenment is a
real goal. But how can I tell what is real
and what is just a figment of my imagination - or just a meditation induced
euphoria (the 'rush' maybe?)

I will try to follow Patanjali's sutra's and hope to get a sign that is
concrete.
Any advise from people with experience ( bogus yogi's need not reply) is
greatly appreciated.

This is a new and strange road I am walking down. Already I feel more at
peace.
I don't believe this road is a blind alley. But I don't want to walk down
it forever if it is.

I know this is a long post. I'm generally quite terse instead. I just had
a lot to describe and ask.

Peace to all,

Chuck.

Dear Jan,

Thanks for your clarification. IMHO, this issue is important for one
particular reason: unlike the Kundalini Yogi, the Raja or Dhyana Yogi does
not seek directly to awaken K but rather meditates and allows it to happen
naturally in its own time (hence why I say 'implicit' rather than 'explicit').
Hence also Patanajli's sutras about devotion to Ishwara, etc. : what is
required is total surrender to the Divine process, not necessarily meditation
on the chakras, and this attitude re-affirms that of the Upanishads.

Obviously, pranayama is an integral part of the K process, in Patanjali's or
any other yoga school, but even here Patanjali steers clear of linking it with
K awakening. This would be a surprising omission unless it were deliberate -
as I think it is. (It's only the commentators who refer to K not Mr. P.
himself.)

In other words, I believe that if we just follow Patanjali's system of 'eight
limbs', K will awaken of its own accord and without the need for us to push it
along - and therefore without risking the dangers inherent in premature
arousal.

God bless,
Alan

Not so far (I have hopes of outgrowing them in old age!). But I feel
completely differently about them -- they have a taste of divinity to
them for me because I am really stubborn and they make me surrender.
Several of them have had a quality of descent into darkness that has
brought tremendous insight. Joan Didion wrote a wonderful essay about
her relationship to migraine where she noted that when the headache
lifts, it takes all negativity away with it so one feels lighter and
happier than before the headache started. Maybe someday I won't need
to have them anymore but I think a part of me would miss them if they
disappeared. This is shocking to me to admit because I used to feel
ashamed of them as if they reflected some kind of defect in me. Thanks
for asking! Love, Holly

Hi, Holly1

My name is Marybeth and I am new to the list. I wanted to respond to you
about your headaches.

My Kundalini awakening happend a year ago, at a time when I was having a
some painful right shoulder problems. Eventually, these shoulder
problems spread to my upper spine and to my neck and left shoulder. I
took physical therapy for a couple of months, to no avail. I had been
suffering headaches for over 30 years; I had been told by physicians that
they were migraines and by other physicians that they were sinus
headaches. The pain was focused somewhere between the my right eye and
right ear, but radiated out to the rest of my head. I got them during my
period, after drinking alcohol, after being exposed to cigarette smoke,
and any time the weather changed drastically. A few months ago, they
became constant and excruciating, the hearing in my right ear was
beginning to fade, the right side of my head was beginning to swell, and
the ringing in my right ear was constant.

My doctor gave me muscle relaxers and prescibed pain pills, but these
didn't work. I began seeing a chiropractor about my shoulder and back
problems and I realized two weeks later that I hadn't had a headache
since my first visit, although the headaches were not the reason I had
gone for chiropractic treatment. I spoke with my chiropractor about this
and he said that many headaches are caused by spinal subluxation, a
chiropractic term which basically refers to blocked or compressed nerves
and energy pathways in the spinal column. At about the same time that the
headaches stopped I also awakend in the night to some very pleasurable
sensations in the crown chakra. It felt like my head was being massaged
by thousands of little beebees dropping on my head. I had experienced
chakra energy up to the third eye chakra before, but never in the crown
chakra.

It has been three months since the headaches have gone. I have had only
two very mild recurrences, but nothing compared to what I had suffered
since I was eighteen years old.

My chiropractor asked me if I missed my headaches. Of course I replied
that I didn't, but he told me that it was very normal to mourn the
passing of anything that has been a large part of your life for a very
long time, even pain. It sounds as if you are trying to make the best of
your pain, and looking at it as a spiritual blessing, which I agree that
pain can be, but if there is a possibility of a simple solution to pain,
such as chiropractic adjustments, it makes sense to give it a try.

With luck and love,
Marybeth

Hi Samuel,
Good advice. Simple :-)
There are many ways to create each of these balances. The tranquil or empty
mind is very much enhanced through meditation and other mind stilling. The
relaxed body through physical expression and body healing. The grateful
emotion through Devotion, Love and Surrender.
You could convince yourself that they will just arrive . . . or you can work
towards them.

Hi,

I'm brand new to this list and I'm very excited to have discovered such
a great group of like-minded individuals. It's a great delight to see
how the Goddess Kundalini manifests Herself through each individual.

If anyone is interested in learning more about some of the meanings of
dreams and visions and their relation to the Great Goddess, the
Kundalini, you might find my book,
THE SOUL'S JOURNEY: GUIDANCE FROM THE GODDESS WITHIN, useful. The book
deals with the Kundalini, symbolic meanings of the chakras, the
spiritual evolution symbolized by the movement of consciousness
expanding through the opening of the chakras, the Divine Feminine and
Her many manifestations, and much more. It's only available through me
right now while I finish negotiating a contract with another publisher.
My background includes 28 years of yoga, Kundalini meditation and
devotional practices centered on the Goddess, training in Jungian
analysis and Ericksonian hypnotherapy, training from an elder Huichol
Indian shaman, years of running meditation centers and an ashram in the
US, teaching meditation and lecturing on the Kundalini and the Goddess
at ashrams and meditation centers in India, Canada and the US, and 3
years of study in an ashram in India, etc. etc. I received my Ph.D.
from Temple Univ. where I was honored as a University Scholar and my
doctoral dissertation was on psychological changes and spiritual growth
wrought by Kundalini awakening and unfolding. My book has received
great reviews from my Jungian colleagues like Marie-Louise von Franz,
Marion Woodman and Stephen Larsen, the renowned Joseph Campbell scholar
and shaman, and others. If you would like to know more about the book
or me just let me know.

Hello list,

Does anyone know where I could get a digeriedoo (?spelling)
here in the States, preferably mail order. I recently came across a
composition by one David Hudson named Trekking and I find the
vibrations from this instrument to greatly facilitate my meditations.

TIA

Jack

Hello.

We're getting rather a lot of new people on the list lately. Welcome
everyone! I still find it amazing that there are so many people with
similar experences and lives. Glad to be here.

Couldn't agree more with you. Which ever way one goes about it, the
combination seems to do the magic. That was my message.

Please talk more about what you mean here.

Hi Lawrence,
Welcome. I wouldn't wish a mind like mine on anyone. I would hope they
develop something far better.
You certainly seemed to have wasted a lot of time in developing a spiritual
CV but what have you learnt?
