None of us are perfect and we all have inclinations that are not spiritual
(whatever that is).
However this list does come together. People from an immense range of
understandings do come together and find growth and development through
sharing.
Some people are judgmental. Some teach without asking. Some send smiles,
love and healing *without being asked* (the effrontery :) and so on.
You are welcome here. Everyone is welcome here.
Now this bunch of judgmental, smiling, finger pointing, chastisers - who
are they?
They are us.
Welcome to Kundalini . . .

The shakti poll encouraged me to think of people I know and their
individual vibrations. Then I started thinking of people I don't know, but
have experienced their energy through performances or art works. I'm very
new to a lot of the Hindi terms and this shakti poll made me wonder ... is
it possible for a person who is anguished and sore at heart to have shakti?

I only saw Kurt Cobain perform once and it was a live televised
performance. He hit me like a thunderbolt! His written words and
photographs throw sparks too. Is this shakti -- or something else?

On a similar situation ... I was in an art gallery once and came into a
room where Francis Bacon's paintings were displayed. They overwhelmed me
instantly and I had to leave the room. Can I say that it was bad energy?
Well, it felt that way! What is the energy in a painting called?
Thanks, K-Group!

I find this quite amusing. Here many of us are debating on the
correctness or incorrectness of a perception of Kundalini. Some are
taking it personally, some are taking the philosophical debate
seriously. However, whatever the good intent behind the discussions,
this thread has brought to the surface some feelings of attack, or less
than love. These feelings that tempt you to lose sight of love and peace
are the adversary, not each other. Kundalini can not be awakened while
you are busy feeling attacked, judged, or are attacking or judging.
Kundalini is an energy that awakens within us as we awaken to the fact
that we are all of One Spirit, One Mind, One Power. In this view,
everyone is right, and nobody is wrong.

I say this to remind you of what you already know. You are all right,
and none of you are wrong. Your feelings are real, they but indicate how
you chose to interpret certain input. So I ask you to look at how you
interpret what has happened, and how you can choose it to mean a message
of love, and not a message of attack or guilt.

For in such a choice lies the key to The Kingdom.

-my most intense experience with k to date began during my third
pregnancy. during the whole time i worried what effect this would have
on the fetus in utero and also after birth. (and i am a certified
midwife quite familiar with the process of pregnancy and delivery) it
turned out that it was my best pregnancy obstectrically, and also the
baby has been the easiest and most well adjusted child thus far (10
years later).
meditation, relaxation, nutrition etc. all the things that support a
good pregnancy also help in dealing with k.
let me tell you also that if the very nutty feelings and experiences i
encountered during that time weren't enough to cause my baby to
miscarry, then i doubt if k would do so in any pregnancy which was
otherwise healthy.

Harsha: Yes Jerry. Particularly if dust gets into one of the Guru's eyes. Oh my!
The dilemma of a teary eyed Guru. How shall he wink! What shall he prescribe!
And what about all those poor people camping out? Can they at least party while
the Guru is weeping:-).

Gurumai Chidvilasananda has two Ashrams. one is at:

SYDA Foundation
PO Box 600
South Fallsburg, NY 12779

I think she is Muktananda's succesor.

You should be careful around the Lobster. Unstable, unpredictable, not
really interested in anything except his over developed ego. I have as
little as possible to do with that maniac . . .

Concerning Guru training:
Due to past karmic influences my present trainee is very reluctant to adopt
his destiny. Excuses range from not being religious, other people are more
suited and an attempt to change the subject constantly. One of my proudest
moments was getting him to pray to a tree (I do not know how I managed
that).
As you can imagine training your own Guru is a thankless task. If they
become enlightened they go around being cosmic and dispassionate.
His wife phoned me today (as you probably remember she is undergoing yoga
training and reading all the books I provide for him). They are very
concerned about one of their goldfish (loving kindness to all things is one
of the marks of the Guru). I said it probably had dropsy and should be
killed (you can see why Guru training is a priority for me).

Most Kind Regards
Lobster

At first I thought...
that your bloated goldfish was named Loving Kindness.

Does kundalini cause dyslexia?

tg stands for Thank God!

Kidding.... it's for Toni Gayle, my given name, but my parents like initials
and called me tg (or how they spell it - Teegee) - go figure - they give me
and my brother initial names, then go and spell it out for us! My brother's
name is EZ, but they spelled it out Easy. Glad they didn't name me that. (I
just got the reputation). LOL

The xxx is for X-Rated, as I'm a stripper.

ok ok. I lied. It's for kiss kiss kiss. You know, XOXO (hugs & kisses),
but I'm not into hugging, just kissing.

Hi Anurag,

Try this one - for women it is funny:

A naked man is standing before a talking elephant.
Says the elephant: "It sure looks nice, but can you pick up a peanut with
it??"

Jan
(this is a man's name in my former home country - tnx for the compliment
Peg)

For those of you with grown children: Laugh (or groan) at you
leisure, but please "don't try this at home."  {g}
Anandajyoti
So here goes.

"A Phone Call"

Morris calls his son in NY and says, Benny, I have something to tell
you. However, I don't want to discuss it. I'm merely telling you because
you're my oldest child, and I thought you ought to know. I've made up
my mind, I'm divorcing Mama."

The son is shocked, and asks his father to tell him what happened.

"I don't want to get into it. My mind is made up."

"But Dad, you just can't decide to divorce Mama just like that after
54 years together. What happened?"

"It's too painful to talk about it. I only called because you're my
son, and I thought you should know. I really don't want to get into
it anymore than this. You can call your sister and tell her. It will
spare me the pain."

"But where's Mama? Can I talk to her?"

"No, I don't want you to say anything to her about it. I haven't
told her yet. Believe me it hasn't been easy. I've agonized over it
for several days, and I've finally come to a decision. I have an
appointment with the lawyer the day after tomorrow."

"Dad, don't do anything rash. I'm going to take the first flight down.
Promise me that you won't do anything until I get there."

"Well, all right, I promise. Next week is Passover. I'll hold off
seeing the lawyer until after the Seder. Call your sister in NJ and
break the news to her. I just can't bear to talk about it anymore."

A half hour later, Morris receives a call from his daughter who tells
him that she and her brother were able to get tickets and that they
and the children will be arriving in Florida the day after tomorrow.
"Benny told me that you don't want to talk about it on the telephone,
but promise me that you won't do anything until we both get there."

Morris promises. After hanging up from his daughter, Morris turns to
his wife and says, "Well, it worked this time, but what are we going to
do next Yom Tov to get them to come down?"
