  Comparison of Religious Theory in the Late 20th Century

   * Capitalism - He who dies with the most toys, wins.
   * Hari Krishna - He who plays with the most toys, wins.
   * Judaism - He who buys toys at the lowest price, wins.
   * Catholicism - He who denies himself the most toys, wins.
   * Anglican - They were our toys first.
   * Greek Orthodox - No, they were OURS first.
   * Branch Davidians - He who dies playing with the biggest toys, wins.
   * Atheism - There is no toy maker.
   * Polytheism - There are many toy makers.
   * Evolutionism - The toys made themselves.
   * Church of Christ, Scientist - We are the toys.
   * Communism - Everyone gets the same number of toys - or else
   * B'Hai - All toys are just fine with us.
   * Amish - Toys with batteries are surely a sin.
   * Taoism - The doll is as important as the dumptruck.
   * Mormonism - Every boy can have as many toys as he wants.
   * Voodoo - Let me borrow that doll for a second.
   * Hedonism - Screw the rule book! Let's play!
   * Hinduism - He who plays with bags of plastic farm animals, loses.
   * 7th Day Adventist - He who plays with his toys on Saturday, loses.
   * Church of Christ - He whose toys make music, loses.
   * Baptist - Once played, always played.
   * Jehovah's Witnesses - He who sells the most toys door-to-door, wins.
   * Pentecostalism - He whose toys can talk, wins.
   * Existentialism - Toys are a figment of your imagination.
   * Confucianism - Once a toy is dipped in the water, it is no longer dry.
   * Non-denominationalism - We don't care where the toys came from, let's
     just play with them.
   * Agnosticism - It is not possible to know whether toys make a damn bit
     of difference.

And maybe:
 * Kundalini - When all your toys reach the crown chakra, they go to
heaven.

Hi All....here's a little story for you....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LUNCH WITH GOD
There once was a little boy who wanted to meet God. He knew it was a
long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Twinkies
and a six-pack of root beer, and he started his journey.
When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old woman. She was
sitting in the park, staring at some pigeons. The boy sat down next
to her and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his
root beer when he noticed that the old lady looked hungry, so he
offered her a Twinkie. She gratefully accepted it and smiled back at
him. Her smile was so pretty that the boy wanted to see it again, so
he offered her a root beer. Once again, she smiled at him. The boy
was delighted. They sat there eating and smiling, yet they never said
a word.
As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to
leave. Before he had gone no more than a few steps, he turned around,
ran back to the old woman and gave her a hug. She gave him her
biggest smile ever.
When the boy opened the door to his own home a short time later, his
mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him,
"What did you do today that made you that happy?" He replied, "I had
lunch with God." But before his mother could respond, he added, "You
know what? She's got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen!"
Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, returned to her home.
 Her son was stunned by the look of peace on her face, and he asked,
"Mother, what did you do today that made you so happy?" She replied,
"I ate Twinkies in the park with God." But before her son responded,
she added, "You know, he's much younger than I expected."
Author's note: No matter how you define God, this story is powerful.
Why? Because it reminds us that the little things are really the ones
that add joy and fulfillment to our lives. Make this day one to
remember.
God Bless
Tom
My dear friend, I am *sure* Mystress Angelique Serpent is *much* better
versed in these techniques... and/or the transformation of them into
kundalini energy. I humbly beg your pardon, but I am sure you would be wise
to ask those much more knowledgable than me, as I she is.
Dear Nancy,
Thanks for your note about chills.  I would love more info from you on the
tantric view of them.
It's interesting that you mention tantric since I've had several dreams, one a
couple nights ago about a meeting with a Tibetan Lama.
I didn't mean to say that the chills weren't orgasmic.  They are, but they
don't seem to have any (direct) connection with sexual orgasm.
They also seem to be separate phenomena, at least for me, from the more cosmic
blissful , disintegrating waves.  The chills seem more physical.
Very odd all this!  I'm just watching with delight.  I'm learning alot from
this list.
Love, Hillary
WARNING: Intellectual stuff ahead.
Topic: Intent=MC(2)
Let's say that Intent is All That Is.
If Intent is divided then the result of that division is nothing.
Divided, or *personal* intent is always incomplete.
Why? Because it is a deviation from just Intent.
I'd liken Intent to Einstein's E(energy) from his famous equation.
When this energy is divided(or at least *seems* to be) the polarity
creates denseness, or gravity if you will.
This gravity is an implosion of sorts and implodes so much in on itself
that mass is formed.(mass is just a term for very dense energy).
We learn, have insights, intuit all the time(pun intended) that this
energy is what is Real and the seemingly separate forms it takes through
division is not Really the case at All.
An interesting thing about mass (and mass is like personal intent)
is that as one attempts to speed it up to hopefully light speed,
something peculiar occurs. (I'd point out that the speed of light
is a reflection of a strange phenomena called Timelessness.)
This mass (or personal intent if you will) gets heavier, thus slowing
down.
The Universe tells us something interesting about personal intent
in Her physical manifestation, the universe.(if
one likens the energy of personnel intent to the dense energy of mass).
As we commit ever more energy into the personal it resists.
We can try forever but completion always eludes personal intent.
So personal intent is not real. It is illusion, shadow, ego, whatever
by very nature of the truth that it is *never complete.*
It cannot last forever.
Here is a law Mother Universe shares through physics.
The only way we can get mass (any mass) to achieve light speed
(which is a model for eternity) is to apply ALL the ENERGY of the
*entire universe* to push that bit of mass we'd like to enter
eternity(for God knows whatever reason.)
That is All Intent that ever was, is, and will be, must be *Unified*
and directed toward that *One goal* of propelling mass into Eternity.
The transcendence of duality.
Personal intent is as much of a
shadow as is the physical universe.
(You already knew that. I just thought it interesting that Einstein's
equation can reflect that.)
There is only Intent.
That is the only real intent that is ever completed.
What does Intent intend?
Intent of course.
Note: "Love" & "Awareness" are all interchangeable with Intent.
Yes, this fits my experience.  I had both the severe hand cramping
called tetany, which was familiar to me through lots of neo-Reichian
body work, and the more "aesthetic" experience of mudras.  The mudras
felt more like some other entity was dancing my body.  Holly
I don't think of myself as aloof. Aloofness is for Goddesses :).
I think of myself as in a darkroom, and some idiot keeps opening the door!
"Hey, knucklehead! I'm not done developing yet!"
If it were up to me, I wouldn't even have a telephone. (I would miss the
modem though).
Paradoxically, it is because I am over-sensitive to the moods and mental
states of others that I need the solitude.
An old boss of mine said that he couldn't understand why I let the
attitudes of my coworkers bother me so much when it was apparent that I
didn't really care about their opinions.
Like I've said before (and probably will again), some people are like radio
stations playing the kind of music that irritates one the most, take ya
pick Old-Style Country, Klingon Opera, Bubble Gum Pop, etc. Knowing that
the music exists doesn't bother me (to each his own), but having to listen
to it for 40 hours a week or more tends to get on my nerves!
Dear John,
   I think you folks have a lot of sympathy from people like us, who wake
up every morning wondering where our time will come for the same sort of
beating from nature.  I feel fairly certain that we'll all get whacked
in the months and years ahead, one way or another.
   But such ideas are anathema to most folks, who cannot, will not, see
any connection between natural disasters and the direction humanity is
heading.  I've read THE SHAPE OF EVENTS TO COME a few times, along with
a couple of other books of the same genre, and I can't help but think
that the world will be forced to change direction one way or the other.
   In the meantime, be assured that your plight is being watched by
millions, who feel very fortunate, for the present, to have escaped a
similar fate.
With all best wishes,
gene
Dear Gloria,
   Once again, I'm very grateful for your unwavering and unceasing support!
   Today, one of the K-list asked for a recapitulation on the past
discussion regarding Urdhvaretas.  Somehow his/her email address got
lost in the shuffle, so I cannot reply to her directly.
   What I would like to say, in the hopes of not disturbing those
who have no interest in Urdhavaretas, that the packet of material
we are sending out FREE to anyone who leaves his/her mailing address
contains quite a lot of information on this particular subject.
   So if there is anyone who would like to receive free information
on Urdhvaretas--articles, pamphlets, broadsides, etc.--he/she need
only leave a mailing address at >gkiefferATnospamnetaxis.com< and we will
mail it out pronto.  No strings attached.  If it doesn't agree with
the way you think, just trash it!
All best wishes,
Delirium here: I just remembered something from my youth; I used to
dance in my bedroom in private, sometimes to music, sometimes just
moving my legs and arms while lying on my back in bed, to an inner music
that was somehow "exotic" to me...I'm certain now that these were
'mudras'... a mudra by any other name? <grin>...And the connection with
this energy arising in my youth came back to my conscious mind this
week...
For two weeks now I have been suffering what I thought was a cold,
congestion in the throat and upper chest area, never migrating down into
the deeper parts of my lungs nor up into my head...stuck in the throat
area...the throat chakra, perhaps? When I finally decided it wasn't
going to get better without stronger medicine than my own meditation and
herbal remedies, the doctor said it was bronchitis...and reminded me
that I no longer had tonsils...I remembered the experience of having the
tonsillectomy...I'm wondering if that experience, which was quite
traumatic for a seven year old...in 1963...they used "ether" or some
other foul-smelling anesthetic that put me out in the "tunnel" way...I'm
almost thinking that might have been a near-death experience for me...I
know they don't use the same type of anesthesia now, because of the
risks...but I was violently ill upon regaining consciousness and
remember how bad I felt. I may be putting 2 and 2 together here and
coming up with 16...but it makes sense to me somehow.
It strikes me, too, that this was a couple years before I took the IQ
test ...i was always an imaginative child, always an "outsider"... I
challenged one teacher in the third grade with questions about why the
word "no" looked funny to me...(I wasn't dyslexic...just seeing this
word over and over...)...and ended up being disciplined after "throwing
a fit" when the teacher didn't understand what I was asking her...
I'm not gonna proclaim here I'm an avatar or an ascended master or what
have you...because that's obviously not the case...besides, there are
enough people on this list who will do this anyway...brings to mind the
"industrial disease" song lyrics "two of them say they're Jesus, one of
them must be wrong.".(..but who is to say?)
I just have a deep feeling now that there are things that opened to me
years ago that I couldn't have understood in their context then (just as
my third grade teacher couldn't understand what I was doing getting all
upset because she couldn't "see" how strange the word "no" looked to
me)...and maybe, just maybe now I'm getting to a stage in my development
where I'm a bit more ready to understand these things...or at least to
accept them on a deeper level.
The hand mudra/tetany/whatever stuff is also part of this and has been
for a very long time...and last night I was able to "redirect" the
energy, by relaxing and putting my hands near my upper chest/throat area
when the 'cramps'/mudras started...this worked and I didn't force
anything...I don't know if it's the antibiotics, the cough medicine, the
vitamins, the ginseng, the meditation, the herbal remedies, or
what...but I feel better and clearer today...
For myself, I have experienced the value in dealing with the whole of the
world to learn to see and feel that beauty & love within everything and
everyone.  As I continue to face myself in the reflections that are mirrored
to me, and come to a love and acceptance of those aspects of me, my vibration
increases, and I awaken more and more to my wholeness.
Blessings,
I felt that way also, feeling certain that we
where going to get whacked. Being in Montreal, and
electrical engineer, i could see that happening to
us before it did, in every details. Was only a
matter of time.
But after sitting in the cold, temperature around
35 F in the house after 7 days. I was deeply
saying to myself did i call to on me and others,
did i plan this? Did my wanting to see the
disaster i was feeling coming did not call it more
on me?
Gene when you say " I feel fairly certain that
we'll all get whacked in the months and years
ahead, one way or another." Please watch out for
what you wish.
I've had similar throat problems every summer since moving from Florida
to Colorado - throat tightness and persistent coughing. The doctor
couldn't figure it out, and I have no history of allergies. Freda's post
got me thinking, though. The throat chakra deals with vocal expression
and interpersonal communications, among other things. Well, every summer
out here two things happen that never happened to me in Florida - my
best friend and confidant (that is, besides my wife) has an increase in
business travel so we can't get together often, and my church choir
takes a summer vacation (singing is my favorite means of vocal
expression).
Last month I had to drop choir temporarily due to work schedules, and my
friend got involved in starting a new church so we couldn't find times
to get together - and the cough started up again (first time it's done
that during the winter). Could it be that the throat chakra was getting
"starved" for means of expression?
- Mike
