According to the book BodyMind by Ken Dychtwald unexpressed emotions can be
'stored' within the tissue of the body. Different areas of the body and the
right and left sides can become storage sites for different types of
emotional energy. For instance, repressed love can manifest itself as a
tight chest area and can cause 'blockage' and disease in that area of the
body. Repressed intellect (most likely messages from the brow chakra) can
manifest themselves as tight muscles in the sternocleidomastoid region
causing headaches. Ken actually mentioned that there are people who, upon
examining someone's unclothed body could tell them all about their
personalities. Who a person is is literally written all over their bodies.
A person's muscle tone and even body structure speaks volumes about a person.

Taking this information into account, I took it upon myself to examine my
own body to see where blockages or stored emotion may have been occurring.
While attempting to release some of the energy from my root chakra region,
and stretching some of the lower muscles from the hamstrings and the
glutes, I noticed very different expressions when I switched from the right
and left sides. On the right side, I had to place a towel under my face.
The energy released seemed very primal and I actually began foaming at the
mouth. On the left side, my face was tense, but I noticed that the energy
was much cooler. Almost like an objective, analytical response to anger.
The pain itself was much easier to deal with on the left side than on the
right. The right seemed to be much more subjective in nature.

According to Ken Dychtwald, the goal of Kundalini Yoga is to release all of
the bodymind's tensions through the chakras and to balance the right and
left sides so that one may ascend into Cosmic Consciousness.

I hope this helps!

You have come to the right place, this is "Oddity Central." The good news
is that people here are generally tolerant of just about any spiritual mix.
We do have our disagreements, to be sure :).

I personally hold beliefs similar to yours. I am somewhat drawn to
Astrology and other symbolic systems, though. Good luck on walking that
razor's edge between fundamentalism and mysticism. I no longer feel totally
comfortable at my old Baptist church. Still love to sing the hymns, but the
sermons are boring and the ladies sunday school is too hung up on
discussing how to have a happy marriage by doing everything your husband
tells you to. Kinda limited.

My feelings on reincarnation are somewhat similar to my feelings on
abortion. Don't know if I believe in it, but it's okay for other people.
Although nothing's written in stone, as they say.

As for the blend of Christianity and K. I find prayer ("Dear Heavenly
Mother and Father.... in the name of Jesus Christ") helps me to cool the K
fire. Opinions could differ on whether that is a good or a bad thing, I
guess :) , but it works for me at this point in time.

Welcome to the list and I look forward to hearing more from you.

sincerely,

Hi all,
There seem to be alot of issues at hand these last few days, and I have
been taking them in, rolling them around and then BLAM got slammed with
a doozy of an experiece which rolled them all up into one and left me
wondering....
On Wensday I had to go to the bank because somehow my full name had been
replaced with only my middle and maiden names, which it made it
impossible for me to cash or deposit my funds. How this happened is a
mystery in inself.
On Thursday I went to the bank to make a deposit and as I stood at the
counter in the lobby I was robbed of my purse! Right there in my bank.
There were two men at the counter near me but I saw nothing, neither did
anyone else in the bank. But of course the cameras caught the whole
thing.
I was at first frozen then shocked - then the tears fell and I felt
terribly violated.
The police did their thing and everyone was very concerned and kind and
helpful so much so that I began to feel more concerned for them than for
myself.
I had to close my accounts and I will have to replace all my ID and my
Social Security card and all that, I should have known better than to
carry some of that stuff with me, a lesson for me? Well, my biggest
concern was my drivers licence because it has my address and I was
warned about how theives sometimes rob homes of their victims in these
cases.
This morning I awoke feeling calm about this whole thing. It occured to
me that whoever did this had really done a dumb thing and was going to
suffer much more than I. In reality I was accually rewarded, not
victimized, as I had recieved alot of good will from people as a result
of what he had done, and they were given an extra opportunity to show
compassion, so they too got a bonus! Somewhere down the line an officer
of the law gets to make an arrest and this guy will have to answer for
his actions(he is a customer of the bank and he is on tape, no doubt
he'll be caught)
Then I come home from work this morning and find my drivers licence in
my checkbook! Where I must have tucked it safely away on Wensday when I
went to straigten out the mysterious name change on my account.
I am of a mind that this incident may be more connected to the guy that
stole my purse and his karma than any of the rest of us who were
involved. Possibly his lack of forethought (the camera) will lead to his
reevaluating his life of crime?
I do so love a good mystery.

Hi Everybody,

Those of you who turn up their noses at channeling would do well to skip
this post.

For seventeen years I have channeled an aspect of my greater self who calls
himself Tomm.
Today I got a bit of writing for someone, and I thought it might be of
interest to some of you as well. I have deleted her name from this post.

----------------------
Nov. 7, 1997

Q: Tomm, do you have anything to say to ______ about her fears and
reservations?

A: Yes. My name is Tomm. ________ is confusing the manifestation of the
small self with Self. When one operates from an ego/small self position,
then it is wise to use this "white light protection" that she talks of.
Many teachers traditionally urge their students to do this because when in
the small ego state, the individual perceives great separation. At this
stage, it is desirable for the student to nurture what he or she thinks of
as "inner light" so that the ego/small self can have the confidence to grow
and manifest its greatness.

Now this "inner light" is an illusion brought on by separation of self from
Self. If there is "inner light," then there is also "inner darkness."
This darkness is projected outward and then the small self reacts to the
darkness. This reaction can take many forms. Among them are generalized
fears and depression. Fears of this perceived darkness take many forms.
Some react with paranoia, others with a wall of defense. Both these
reactions are counterproductive because they increase the sense of
separation.

So, too, can "inner light" be projected outward; so, too, does the small
self react to the light it perceives.

Our very thoughts have a certain energetic shape and form, and further,
they have consciousness. Each person perceives these thoughtforms very
well on an unconscious level. This unconsciousness of perception has a
function and that is to protect the ego from disintegration while it
operates under the illusion of separation.

When these thoughtforms begin to be perceived as "other," as happens when
the small ego begins to stretch and grow, then they become chameleons of
sorts because they reflect, quite accurately, the psyche of the "viewer."
If energy is then given to these perceptions, they take on a greater power
than is inherent within them. Since the psyche is utterly versatile, and
since it has a decided bent for drama, these perceptions are virtually
endless in their variety. These thoughtforms then take on the "mindset" of
the individual and manifest as an endless list of ghosts, ghouls, goblins
and other things that "go bump in the night." Contrariwise, they can
manifest as gods, benevolent alien beings, angels, beings of light and so
on.

If enough focus is given to these energetic forms, then there is a marked
tendency for the forms to attach themselves to a person's "aura" where they
can further grow in the rich nutrient of the mind. These attachments, if
positive, are often mistaken for enlightenment. These attachments, if
negative, are often perceived as "possession." Now the term possession is
interesting, and somewhat apt; however, the possession is not done by the
thoughtform, but by the small self which literally reaches out and takes
possession of the form and incorporates it into its psyche.

When the small self allows itself to reach beyond it's limitations, then
the phenomena known to you as "ego death" begins. Sometimes this "death"
is abrupt, more often it is lingering. During this time there can be much
anguish, for the ego is cherished and seen as identity. Gradually, as this
occurs, the depth of being is discerned to one degree or another. And this
depth, this deepness of being, is perceived as inner darkness. This is
because the Self has not yet been fully realized and cannot yet manifest.

It is this depth of being that ___________ begins to explore, this darkness
of the unilluminated Self. You call it the shadow, the blackness, the
void, but it is all the same. It is the Self that you do not yet know, the
Self, the Oneness, the Unity that you instinctively seek.

Hi,

I'm curious about the mechanics of Tonglen. In my practice, (for example),
if I feel negativity in the solar plexus, I would move it to the
back, behind my back, and from there I would lift the energy up.

The reason I move it to the back, instead of just lifting it
up the front (where I normally feel the negativity) is because
the personality structure is strong in the front, and moving
the energy up the front could simply reinforce the personality
(e.g. what's right and proper for me and others), instead of
taking an unbiased approach (the best I can) (e.g. please let the energy
work in others and in me in the gentlest and most appropriate way for
us...)

What do you focus on in Tonglen?

Thanks,
Toshi

Dear Paul !
I am sorry to reply late as I was out of town for the past week.
Good to hear from you.
In the practice of Yoga, we follow the path inductive and deductive
logic first in the determination of such blockages or impediments in the
path.
We try to follow the logical path first, in the physical level, then in
the emotional level and finally through the process of elimination we
arrive at the truth.
Physically , throat blockages need to be checked through the medical
profession of your choice. Emotionally it may indicate that you have to
lot to say to those you love, but something in that level is creating an
impediment, which in turn is reflected through the physical. On thorough
scrutiny of these aspects and through elimination of the doubts, and
through discernment, your own self will allow you to know your exact
state of affairs, in the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects.

Hello everybody,
I was out of town for a few days, and on my return had to clear a lot of
mail. Still on process.
I read with great interest the comments of the Mystress pertaining to
the referred, post of Nov4 -97.
I have found , that most being super sensitive to emotions, in major
ways, need the help which the Mystress pointed out very clearly in her
looong post.
Emotions on their own have no direction. If suppresses through the
logical part of ourselves, they would explode inside after some time,
when even logic would have no effective control over them. That is why
so much violence in still existing and on the increase in society. We
cannot cover up the cancerous growth with a bed of roses, which are
very soothing to the senses. We must recognize, accept the prescence
of emotions, and allow them to be transformed, through understanding its
real nature, and then express through the creative outlets. Also pointed
out by the mistress.
There is very little other option for those who are very sensitive to
their emotions only.
The weathervane analogy of the Mystress, gives rise to a tthought in me,
that emotions play like the weather vane, Steady acknowledgment and
dealing with them face to face with no fear allows us to transcend them
and come in to an area of our being , which is full light and full Love,
in their purest expressions.

Hello,

so far as I know, if your body is not yet prepared to support the
powerfull energy of kundalini awakening you can die, you can
paralize or had serious mental or/and phsycal problem. The idee is
DO NOT PUSH MORE THAN YOU CAN CONTROL IN THIS MOMENT. I received a
good advice: don't be alone when you try something new and talk with
a friend about what you parctice, because in case you have problems
your friend will know were the problem coming from and can save you.
This advice saved a men's life.

Don't forget to devote all the fruits (results) of your actions to
GOD and do ONLY good.

This is important.

measure ithe brain waves of healers. He found that all
healers exhibit the saem brain-wave pattern of 7.8 to 8.9 Hz
durin ghte times they are giving healings, no matter whqat
their customs or how opposed to eah other their customs
were. Beck tested charismatic Christian faith Healers,
Hawaiian Kahunas, Practitioners of Wicca, Sna teria,
Radesthesia and radionics, as well as seers, ESP readers and
Psychics.. They all tested the same.. Unquote
from Light Emerging by Barbara Brennan.

AND.... someone asked how in my mailboX..
wellll more quotes from Dr. Robert Beck, a nuclear
physicist..
QUOTE: from Barbara Brennan's Book Light Emerging

Dr. Beck then asked to what drummer the healers were all
marching. And indeed why. He found the answer in the
fluctuations of the earth's magnetic field. It fluctuates
between 7.8 and 8 HZ. These fluctuations are called Schumann
waves. Upon further investigation, he found that during
healing moments, the healer's brain waves became both
frequency and phase synchronized with the Schumann waves. >
that means the healer's brain waves pulse not only at the
same frequency but also at the same time as the earth's
Schumann waves. It could be assumed that healers are able
to take energy from the magnetic field of the earth for the
healing of patients. This process is also called Field
Coupling..
It is clear that what healers call grounding into the earth
is the action of linking up with hte magnetic field of the
earth, both in frequency and in phase. he has found that
once healers have linked up with the Schuymann waves, the
right and left hemisphere of their brains become balanced
with each other and show a 7.8 - 8 mz alpha rythem...>
After they link with the patient for some time of laying on
of hands healing, it has been shown that patients brain
waves also go into alpha and are phase synchronized with the
healer's as well as right-left balance.
The healer has, in effect linked the client with the earth's
magnetic field ulses and has thereby tapped into a
tremendous energy source for healing.
END QUOTE..

the rest is from me.. grin..

I have also seen studies that show that the healer is like a
battery.. each cell in the body has a voltage of energy due
to the movement of the protons and neutrons around the
neuclues (sp) of each atom. The measurement has been 1.4 v
if all these cells are linked in harmony, then the person is
like a battery and when linked.. charges the other's
battery, which is obviously out of sync due to the illness
or stress.
There are studies and it was on PBS showing that a healer
seemed to increase the Pheromones and seratoin in the person
being worked on. The endocrine system gets happy basically
and when positive and happy repairs all its energy leaks..
I believe this more links wth Edgar Cayce's theory that the
Person really heals themselves the Healer is just a
catylsts.

I do LINK when I heal. I know that. That is how I do Reiki
On line and how I am able to sense/empathize what a person
on a keyboard thousands of miles away from me is feeling. I
also know as part of THE Initiation of my Reiki Students, I
begin to bring them to a kundalini awakening.. Or what I
call "THE PRANIC BREATH AWAKENING" and stiring the soul to
reach its heights. With each attunement, (I have observed)
that the chakra centers open, sometimes different ones for
different people. But when I do THE Master's I purposely
awaken the spirit to the top most realm of their conscience.
To that which the yoga's call BLISS/Samadhl.
My Reiki Masters are kundalini awakened because I think
this is the healing that is suppose to be. When I read books
like Barbara's I find the words that describe what I am
doing. It makes perfect sense to me. I know I am harmonizing
myself with the universe.. I usually say As above, so below
as it is in all Light so it is in all Form.

Isn't it strange that the pictures in my mind that were
there found a sound and are now finding form.. grin.
anyone for a really deep philosophical discussion??
Love,

The development of K.
The evolution of Spirit.
The cessation of suffering has a purpose. We do it because

1. It improves us
2. It improves our relationship with others and the world

If not. What are we doing?
