Hello there :)
There are many theories on human evolution, and many ways people have come
up with to try and improve on/speed up the process. We percieve it in so
many ways. Some of us percieve as the Urantia stuff, the more esoteric new
age stuff, ancient Atlantis etc etc. (my case its more esoteric buddhist)
WHat i would be interested in is: condensed down and dirty, Is whatever
you are doing bringing you closer to other people or driving you away from
them? Is it improving your life or making it simply 'different'?
Is there some hard work involved or are you blissed out on Mars?
I would not want my practise to be too easy. Then i would not be so
driven to do it, and the results would not run as deep.
One thing i've found, is that when you activate Karma ie: dredge up the
junk in your subconcious and bring it up to look at it, its UGLY! One of
my gurus says we bring up the bad and the good, the bliss and the
suffering. Sometimes the bliss is just disguised future suffering.

Hi,
Reiki is a word i keep bumping into.
Twice now i've encountered it with a question and a comment that goes "you
are a healer, arn't you?" i'm like--well--no. i care dont get me wrong,
but 'healer'? Me? hmmm.... well--i've done things like imagining white
light around someone in trouble and such...
So, to investigate Reiki, i want to know, how do you know who is legit and
who is not? What sort of 'certificate of authenticity' does a REAL reiki
practioner have? How do you spot a false? Are there lineages like there
are with Tibetan Buddhism? I'm almost completly ignorant about it :).
If anyone could point me to a website/book/whatever, it would be
appreciated.

Dear all here on the kundalini list,
I am just beginning to walk on my path of
spirituallity with open eyes. I have been having some strange things happen
to me lately that I have not been able to really understand. Part of me is
frightend because the feelings are so strong and overwhelming that I have
not been able to tell whether they are good or bad. I *think* I may be
having some sort of spontainious channeling. I have not channeled before
and would not try to do it b/c I am new and have no experience. (or do i
now?) The first feeling I had was 6 days after I went to a Reiki
session....the session went very well and I felt great after! On the next
friday I felt a cool draft and could smell a cool wintery air(i thought a
door/window was open but they were all closed and no-one had recently
entered or exited) The fire was on and the house was warm.This cool tingly
feeling kept increasing till I felt like I was wrapped in a cool tingly
blanket. The feeling peaked and I began to cry (i know this feeling was not
from me....i just know) it felt as if it was someone else was crying. I did
not feel threatened or bad at all so i went with the flow and the crying
stopped as soon as it started.My husband was here and could not beleive how
cold i felt so i asked him to put his hand near but not on my face(thiis
was where it felt the strongest) and he was amazed because he felt a cool
draft coming from my face in waves....(i felt like my whole body was
pulsing out waves of cool air, it was very strong) The whole episode took
about 20 minutes. This repeated evry night for about 5 nights but each time
it was weaker and I did not cry again. I thought that maybe the reiki
session was what caused all of this. Then yesterday I was told I had picked
up 2 spirits somewhere......a woman and a man.....they had died in a car
accident and were confused and looking for their child. They have been
around me for a couple of months and wanted mt help. I am new and I did not
know they were here....although I had felt a presense and would feel
compelled to look over my shoulder.I have also been sick since aug/24/97
The friend of mine suspects that these lost spirits were draining my
energies. She said they have been around me for a couiple of months. She
tried to get them to leave....tell them to look for the light that is where
their infant went......she said they left (i did not pay any money, a
friend did this for me) Well when I was helping her to get them to leave I
closed my eyes and felt compelled to touch something natural--so I touched
on of my wood walls---i focused on the white light and asked it to come
into my house and protect me and my children and to guide the spirits to
the light--I imagined the light flooding my whole house and all of us in
it--Well I felt and could see the white light and it felt like it filled us
and the whole house......but then someting very strnge happened.....All of
a sudden my eye sight went funny--sureal like--and i began to get tunnel
vision and i began to shake and I got very scared...this feeling became so
strong! I felt like someone was trying to talk to me but because this
feeling was so overwhelming I became frightend. When i went to reiki i only
felt peaceful and good--this feeling ....I could not tell if it was good or
bad --i think it was too strong to be able to tell. Tihis lasted for maybe
10 min and I had to keep shaking my head because I felt like i was loosing
myself.....I did not know if a spirit was going to try a channel or what
the heck was going on......i begged my friend to help me and she did but it
took her a few minutes to help me come back......If she couldn't help then
I was going to run down the street for the nearest churh! I know that is
extreme but I was REALLY scared! I was only scared because I could not
tell if good/bad. Well my friend said to ground myself and focus on the
light again well i immediatly did so and I began to get it even stronger
....I tried this a few times b/c I thought maybe I was doing it
wrong--inside I knew I was calling the light for help-- so i stopped doing
it and in awhile the feeling passed. My girl-friend decided to try and see
who was around me......She said that I had 3 guides around me....a priest,a
woman warrior by the name of myra(ponounced mee-ry she said) and a motherly
type spirit. She suspects that when I called the white light that maybe I
called them to me for help. The spirit called myra said she has been near
me since birth and will be for approx 3 more years. Well I dont know
exactly what is happening to me--no i do not have a teacher near me that i
have met yet--and this feeling was soooo overwhelmig that i am
nervous.....my girlfriend says i am wide open to spirits and helped me to
mentally *close* the door(or the top of my head) my friend lives in texas
and i live in canada.So we did not do this in person.
Had anyone else ever felt what I just experienced? Can someone please
help...i am afraid to meditate or do anything in case it comes back i do
not have any one who can guide me throu this to help protect me.

I too have a hard tiime with this kind of talk. Food is only of minor
interest to me and I just endure talk of it. Also, I have just read -
someplace respectable - that gossip is for humans similar to, and a
replacement for, the 20% of the day that lower primates spend in mutual
grooming. Gossip performs the same functions...encourages close
relationships, promotes group solidarity and fosters a heirarchy...it keeps
everyone in touch with one another...
On a certain level it made sense...to me anyway.

are magnificent and of my co-creation.

I have never felt more involved in this world...and the spiritual
realm too, so I guess that's another BOTH.

Yes that is true. Like all questions, they can be answered many ways. Why
choose to preconcieve and limit the question?
There are paths that lead to usefulness and sanity and compassion, there
are others that spiral down. At some point its pick it up and go with it
no?
Was driving at: what are the marks of a successful spiritual practise? To
myself, it seems to be that i can relate better to all my sister human and
non human beings. My life is more centered and daily normal 'boring'
activities are just--things that have to be done and there is a certian
joy in doing them. Vacumming the steps just for the sake of the steps
needing vacuuming.
Bliss is wonderful, but its just a piece of the puzzle no? if it doesn't
work on the level of ordinary human interactions eventually...then why do
it?
this is a very down to earth lady. Afraid i do not relate well to light
beams from Altair. unless said light beam is shining in my face. Or my
friends face. What i do know is there are a lot of unhappy folks on this
planet. That is clear, and maybe i'm trying to do something about that.

I don't think you can fake Reiki.. I was discussing this with a Friend
today. The healer's touch is obvious. Even sceptics have to say.."ok" I
feel something, I don't know what it is, but I definately feel
something" and they walk away amazed and feeling better.

I can only speak for myself. In some instances I feel a need to draw back
because the emotions others emit are so strong and sometimes hard to take. Am
I closer or farther away? Physically, I put myself farther away. Mentally, I
am closer than even others would want. People do not like those of us who
know their very thoughts to be too close. This is a different reality! Love

Yes, hello folks.
Im Krikka from Sweden and eeeehh.... Well, I thought that it would be a
good idea to subscribe this list since I´ve just begun the work with the
"Dragon". I´m advancing very slow though cause I´ve got deep respect for
this power, I´ve heard stuff like people getting psychosis as an effect
of the awakening of the Dragon. We wouldn´t like that to happen.
Does someone know something about this, the risks, so forth and so on?
Anyway, I practise some shamanism, Draconian magik, runemagik and all
that comes with it.

The girl is a bengali (from the state of West Bengal
north-east of India). She is incidentally also a teacher
of Yoga, and so both she and me were relieved when
we realised that we were both in the pursuit of the Truth

I was initiated into 1st and 2nd degree reiki a couple of years ago. A
reiki master was offering goods rates! No, it's a longer story than that.
However, learning reiki is a series of initiations involving various
symbols and rituals. If it wasn't for the fact that I felt spiritually
manoeuvred into doing it, I would not have felt comfortable with this. I
am suspicious (afraid) of rituals and I feel very strongly about paying
for spiritual gifts. And reiki course can be very expensive, but that's
another debate.
I experience reiki as a tangible power emanating from my hands. There are
normally tingling and pulsing sensations, which I had not experienced
in the same way with K. The recipient normally experiences reiki as heat,
but this can vary.
Since receiving reiki I have read up on spiritual healing in general and
the experiences seem to be identical - though I stand to be corrected in
this. Subsequently, I would have prefered to have learnt to nurture this
gift freely, from a charitable healer. My guess is, though, that God
(genderless) had good reasons, not least of which I got close to a
certain lady on the courses.

It's learnable by anyone, although not everyone will be called to this
particular path. No special talent is needed: the energy itself does it
all. It helps to be able to put aside expectations and will: this allows
the energy to flow through you, lets you be a clear channel for healing.

Congratulations indeed. And as Linda said, "Now you can do Tantra also!"
But please don't hurt yourself:-). My paper on Tantra and Yoga in the
context of sensuality will be on a website in the next day or so. It
will come in handy when you get back on line. Humor aside, the paper may
be of benefit to serious spiritual aspirants and their teachers.
