Another example of synchronicity here! :-) in my binge of spending the
other day I was drawn to a book store... and spotted a lovely looking book
called "the complete Yoga course" by Howard Kent... it gives groups of
exercises to do in month blocks... I remembered your advice about the hatha
yoga and got it!

Yes please! I do alot of my learning by reading and watching how others do
or have experienced things. (sometimes the hardest thing for me to do is
sit back and just experience things)

I look forward to your reply

I guess this would be one for the bibliography of K. books. I wanted to
share what I experienced with the book "A Chakra and Kundalini Workbook"
by Dr. John Mumford.
I wanted to try this meditation on page 49 regarding Polarization.. as I
had been given the Hawaiian words to this method and I thought I would
combine his methods in the book and these words.
In the book by Mumford he explains the principles of magnetism and the
effects of polarization. He says "the exercise brings about harmony and
balance between all positive and negative aspects of the body-mind
system."
He claims it brings about relief from anxiety, depression and the "worry
cycle" is broken. It also relieves insomnia, increases visualization and
concentration and internal awareness of the body is increased. Well after
reading all this I wanted to try it as I have been waking up between 2 and
5 a.m. every night for about 2 months.
WARNING: This technique is VERY powerful. I would recommend that you not
do it if you have an important job to do the next day. Choose a person
who will check on you if you sleep beyond the usual sleep time. It is a
very deep state that results from this meditation.. and some peoplehave
OBE's.
Lie down face up with head north feet south, feet together hands up.
Slowly inhale seeing the sun energy(white) coming in through the top of
the head and into the diaphragm. Breathe out the sun energy to your feet.
Now inhale the moon (blue) in through the feet up to the diaphragm. And
exhale up through thetop of the head. Then repeat.

It took me o nly about 5 of these before I was gone. I slept very deeply
and was hard to rouse the next morning...sort of not in my body for a few
hours after waking up. The effect on my mind was profound. It was totally
quiet...spookily so! Who is used to that? I had no chatter in my head.
I felt completely calm and neutral. Bad drivers did not bother me. I was
in a balanced state for a few days after.
My friend who tried it also says that she was OBE and was not able to get
back into her body and got a little upset. So I think this is powerful
and I would warn anyone to have someone around to rouse you if you stay
too far gone. However, if you are in a state of anxiety or sleeplessness,
this does help!

Hope it is useful. Ruth

    Enlightened

In june 94, I came to a stage, where I felt and knew that I have
become enlightened. Major signs were,
 1) All sicknesses completely gone. Before June 92 , I was a sick
person physically as well as mentally.
 2) Felt light and springy in walk.
 3) Felt very very clean . No need for bath, or brushing of teeth
etc. etc.
4)I had a gift of seeing inside of my body, and there was no
thought in form of kalapas or in any other way in my body. That is I can
see my astral body in meditation and it had become invisible.
For last two years(92 to 94)I had cleaned these emotional patches
of hatred , fear, jealousy , love etc. I had with deep concentration
forced out even clevely hidden patches and cleaned them. In my last stages
I had deliberately forced my concentration on some emotion from outside
and when it would connect with inside patch of same emotion, I would go
after it and clean it.

There was this scent smell in me and many other small signs were
there. I cannot fully convey this enlightment that i went thro but even
today I am sure that I was enlightened.

But no one on the outside (my friends , relatives etc) recogonised
any change in me. To them I was the same old Ram.

This period of enlightment continued for 45 days or so.

So a dissatisfaction started rising in me. I was questioning
myself about this enlightment. Why was it different from Guatam Buddha or
Guru Nanik or Rajnesh or Muktanand?
As a result of this I started meditating more hours and started
deep searching inside my body.

Later still I started seeing my father in the dreams , and he was
telling me that he is going thro hell (my father had died 12-15 years
back) My father was telling me to help him to get out of this painful
situation in recurring dreams.
Suddenly one midnight I woke up and found intense energy movement
in my body and from some where my whole body was filled with karmas of
love hatred jealousies and fears etc. I was thrown back to my original
state of body to June 1992.
Three years and three months later till today I have not
experienced that enlightment or purity inside my body. Almost five nights
in a week I get my body filled with karmas and meditate in the day to
purify and clean these karmas.
Last three years were filled with pain and heat and disturbed
sleep along with strange dreams.
`But all the above troubles are now considerably reduced. Only 10%
are left.

Day after day wisdom has been arising in me.

Did compassion arise in my sleep for my father to take up his karmas?

Do I collect karmas of other souls everynight out of compassion?

Did I lose the enlightment because of strong ego?

Would some ones give me their opinions?

Kirillian photography may have an answer for me , but here in
Poona (India) I am not able to get one done.

I too have tried the techniques you mentioned in Mumfords book. It had a
very similar effect in that it stopped many of my sleepless nights but proved
to be a real mind eraser when the next morning came. I could hardly remember
anyhting but my dreams.

The only experience that I have had that sounds like what you are talking
about and I honestly never thought was a near death experience was when I was
getting a massage at a day spa (in a very ecstatic state). I thought that
the massuse was hypnotizing me at first becaue of the timbre of her voice and
the soothing quality the massage and the room's ambiance presented. The
incence, the music, and her vocie combined in such a way that I found myself
shooting down what seemed to be a sort of mirrored tunnel. I was still very
aware of my body but lost in some sort of limbo between body and mind. I
could hear her voice and my vain attempts to answer her queries. But at the
same time i was shooting thru this tunnel until i emerged in a sort of ill
lit place where all that i saw was geometric shapes and patterns. I saw
triangles, squares, circles and some more complex shapes. Then she touched a
spot in my back and there was like a snap and I found my self being reeled
back into my body but it was as if she was directing my ascent. Not only did
i come back into my body but by the time i was back she was massaging my
head. This is the strangest part by far. It seemed as if i was on a teather
that went thru the point in my back and completely bypassed my body. I could
see my head below me and it was glowing a reddish orange like the sun at
sunset and every time she would knead my scull it was as if she was pulling
white strands of something out of me. It was a very powerful image and I did
my best not to just plain freak out. When i stood up afterwards I told her
that I felt completely invigorated and thanked her immensly. She told me that
i was glowing. I asked her what she meant and she again told me that my whole
body was glowing white and if i did not beleive it to ask someone. I walked
to the spa area where my girlfriend and another friend were waiting.
Without saying a word they both told me that i looked very strange. I was a
little distracted mainly because on both of their foreheads all i could see
was the rainbows on both of thier foreheads. I have never returned to this
place out of

Of course they wouldn't know it is happening because they are to
involved in the self to notice the signs. But, there has to be signs
over a period of time that energies are moving and perhaps when they are
enraged, or some other emotion connects up to a thought form the
kundalini is then released. Many releases happen when your sleeping, so
that isn't that different either, in fact, it is the most natural time
for kundalini to erupt because you are at rest.

Do most cases have the eruption in the central area of the body? I
would guess that is where it comes from the solar plexus, it is
interesting. I will look at the library for information, I am interested
in the process although most people die so there is noone to really get
it from unless a family member might know, still when kundalini is
blocked but opens up to a full eruption, it could happen easily. Gloria

By the way, something is wrong with your address, when I go to mail it.
Will you check it? I've had to mail it to you through the kundalini

Hi Lisa and others
Sorry that I was not clear with the directions for the pose to be in for
the meditation exercise I just posted. If y ou know
hatha yoga.. it would be the corpse pose. Lie on the back..relaxed. Feet
together (as opposed to apart) and palms facing up.
Hope that helps! RUTH

I was reading a magazine a few days ago about Margo Anand who wrote `The
Art of Sexual Ecstasy' and `The Art of Sexual Magic'.

She said "From the Tantric perspective governments are mostly manned by
politicians who are old, sick, who don't know how to internalize their
Kundalini. All that means is that they don't know how to transmute their
vital power into love, love into creativity, creativity into vision, vision
into a way of the cosmos and the laws of nature. He who doesn't know how
to make these transmutations will externalize his energy as aggression, as
competition, as the fear of being taken over."

I had viewed K. as energy transformed. Much as some people do when they
pause before responding to transform the energy of a moment into love or
wisdom to meet the needs of that moment.

But this is an interesting concept. Externalized K. Does anyone have any
comments?

In 1989 I was doing very intense navel chacra meditation. Even though I've
got a lot of energy, after a while my system total broke down. Since then
anything that gives me energy cause pain in the naval area, and in my

I've been doing yoga, mainly hatha, for about 3 years. The last 6 months
I've intertwined yoga, healthy eating, and rudimentary yogic cleansing into
my daily life. With this change in lifestyle, my interest in studying yoga
more in depth was peaked. I starting reading books, lurking on the
internet, this last week I found this list server on Kundalini.

Well, I went to an appointment for chiropractic therapy on a recurring
upper back spasm. There, I got a deep and long shoulder massage. While
enjoying the massage. I thought about my yoga practice, and started a deep
breathing exercise. Being in a relaxed state, I started having an OBE with
a vivid blue light becoming more powerful as a released into it. This went
on until I started thinking objectively about how intense this feeling was
becoming. I was jerked back into conciseness, unable to retain, or return
to that state.

Could this be a peak at my inner energy being released?

Thanks for listening. Don't come out of lurk mode often.

Nicholas,
I would say your projecting into the wrong center. Take the focus off
of the navel, you don't want to develop lower powers do you? The solar
plexus is related to the world, are you not interested in spiritual
realization?
If so, then your entire being will look at the universal picture which
means to become heart centered. The heart is the foundation for all
spiritual growth, not my will but thy will be done, and it is the
clearing house for creating detachment from the world while proparing
for a life of service to humanity. The meditation you are doing needs to
be changed if you are experiencing any kundalini or you could have a
very difficult time with the energy. Talk to me if this is fitting for
you. Gloria

Hello Nicholas,
While I dont profess to be expert on some of this stuff... it did appear
to me that by concentrating intensly on working the one chakra you may have
damaged your aura. I know that if one has an accident or surgery etc then
their aura can be damaged (I had a car accident three years back and was
'leaking' energy out my brow chakra!) - so its seems quite likely that it
could be 'blown' from the inside if it was particularly intense.
If you can get it checked out by someone who feels or sees these energy
systems then I think it might be wise. If there is no-one available then
try going into a meditative state and visualising yourself (your whole body
not just the naval chakra area) and what you would percieve your aura bubble
to look like... pay attention to any colours, and if you could imagine
running your hands over your aura then check the surface and note the
contours and textures.
With any luck your inner/higher self may show whats going on with that
area.

good luck

I dont know about the energy release side of it... but I can relate to
travelling whilst meditating and as soon as my rational mide steps in a
thinks about what is going on then I lose the experience. Even the act of
trying to recreate stops me. This is a barrier for me that I havent worked
out yet.
So I have taken a rest from meditating (I found it was making me nauseous
too!)
but recently I have started doing yoga at home and the rest state (corpse??)
is very like the stillness of meditation for me (without the mental
expectation of amazing sights).

I hope this helps...
