Dreams of death I usually find to be somewhat auspicious and usually
represent personal transformation as opposed to actual dreams of someone
you love dying.
Your reference to someone named George dying could be any number of
things, perhaps even a past life memory emerging through the dream state.

I have added further that....this ego consists of kalapas which
transceds to higher and higher plane to become BECOMING GOD.
So greater the ego greater will be transcedense and consequently
greater critical quantity of kalapas. This will result in higher plane,
Either one becomes a Guru and merges smaller souls in him , there by
increasing his ego to become Bodhisatta or Buddha or Becoming God or one
can take many births and increase his purified ego. It is said that
Guatam Buddha after enlightment had to travell for many many years to get
souls for merging. Those souls were called Arahants. It was their ego
that was merging in him.
Christ takes sins or bad karmas on Him by being compassionate from
his disciples and suffers for his followers purifying their karma ego .
Radhaswamy's us this same process. In India all the cults who give
NAM to their disciples use the same process. Advantage to those
disciples is that on their own they have to take many human births and
suffer on their own, so it is easier to merge their ego in higher soul of
their Guru.
IT IS ONLY THROUGH HUMAN LIFE THAT KALAPS ARE PRODUCED FROM
MATTER AND ENERGY AND SUM OF THESE KALAPAS IS CALLED EGO. THIS EGO GETS
MORE AND MORE VIBERATION ELEMENT AFTER PURIFICATION AND TRANSCEDS TO
MERGE IN BECOMING GOD . THIS CAN BE EXPERIENCED IN MEDITATION.
I am still not satisfied with the words that i have written about this
meditation experience.
Say a billion oridinary kalapas merge to transced and become one Super
Kalapa. This super kalapa will move to higher plane. Time here in this
plane will dilate and Space will converge. At a still higher plane this
Super Super Kalapa will become Omni present and all knowing as it will be
present at each and every space point at every moment of time. Space
will converge to one small dot for this Super Super Kalapa and one second
of time will be like it is eternity for this Super Super Kalapa and then
It will become GOD. All life is having only this purpose to produce this
Super Super Kalapa to become from BECOMING GOD to REAL GOD.
May be this REAL GOD is already there and tis process of matter and
energy continues to convert in viberation till all matter and energy in
whole universe merges in HIM.

Susan,
It is quite true what your demanding teacher told you about explanation to
a five year old. Our teachers in our university used to tell us before the
course that they were teaching the subject in order to learn more about
it ! They used to explain things to us and even learn from our interpretations,
something that was extremely motivating in learning.
Here's what can be one possible set of explanations to the words.
EGO :
The part of our personality that looks at our own individual protection
excluding everyone
else or everything else.
Ego manifests in not-so-good display of behaviour.
MY body, MY car, MY house, ... do you know who you're talking to - eh ?
LOVE :
The spontaneous feeling to work for and help oneself and others with a feeling
of inclusion. One does not have to make an effort to act in love, such effort
come about without thinking, just out of feeling.
In love there is no "me first" or "me last". In ego there is this thing. They
are not
mutually exclusive. Every person has ego and evey person loves. Ego is like
an armour to a child, gives protection in that stage, but later has to be taken
and
thown away because constant wearing of the armour will hamper the growth of
the child.
Love is like a light of wisdom in the darkness of ignorance. Even a little
light is
enough to combat all the darkness around. Darkness is scary, but weak in
front of light. Hatred is the darness that is dispelled with a little love.

The coffee neither becomes a part of "me" nor do we get permeated
by it. The body is not "me" and so the coffee being digested into the
body does not become "me".
Just like the clothes one wears does not become "me"...........
The normal language has no words to describe the true "me" and so
one has to resort to negation -- not this ... not that.....
Just like cannot exactly describe an OOBE, but we can tell what it is not ....
Looks like an absolute point of view, but this is like the story of the Zen
master
who was observing two students arguing whether the wind moves or the flag. The
Zen master said neither moves, it is the mind that moves......

I find it very difficult to admit my lack of knowledge of Srimad-Bagavatum.

Today I discovered that it is possible to simply "step back" out of painful
processing or rumination and view the process without pain. It is something
like being in the projection booth of a theater watching one's own cognitive
process without the normally attendant affect. This led to the formulation
of the following typology. I have conceptualized a 7th level and there may
be other level of which I am not yet aware.
Your comments will be appreciated.
TYPOLOGY OF PAIN PROCESSINGT
1. UNAWARE: The individual is experiencing psychic pain in his life but is
unaware that mentation or cognitive processing is involved.
2. LOCUS AWARE: The individual is experiencing psychic pain in his life and
he is aware that the locus of his pain seems to have something to do with
his mental functioning, but is not aware of process dynamics.
3. EXTERNAL AWARE: The individual is experiencing psychic pain in his life,
he is aware that the locus of his pain is cognitive, arising from thoughts
and images, but he attributes this painful processes to external sources; in
particular, the things that others are or are not doing.
4. SOURCE AWARE: The individual is experiencing psychic pain in his life, he
is aware that the locus of his pain is cognitive, arising from thoughts and
images. He understands that he is the source of the painful thoughts and
images, but he has no awareness of control over them.
5. CONTROL AWARE: The individual is experiencing psychic pain in his life,
he is aware that the locus of his pain is cognitive, arising from thoughts
and images. He understands that he is the source of the painful thoughts and
images, and he is aware of his ability to intervene by substitution or
diversion of his problematic thoughts. He can empathize, consider longer
term possibilities, inject positive thought streams, and interviene in a
number of similar ways that direct his thoughts in a way to eliminate
painful mismatches.
6. META AWARE: The individual is experiencing psychic pain in his life, he
is aware that the locus of his pain is cognitive, arising from thoughts and
images. He understands that he is the source of the painful thoughts and
images, and he is aware of his ability to intervene by substitution or
diversion of his problematic thoughts. He is also aware that he can step
back and disengage from the pain of mismatch. He can direct his brain to
view the process from a perspective outside of the pain circuitry. From this
perspective he can still clear see pain producing mismatches. He still
understands the great importance and affective value he has imprinted upon
his reference criteria, but he is able to view these elements and processes
without engaging the pain producing circuitry. He is using metacognition. In
this mode of processing he facilitates rational appraisal and planning.

Salman Rushdie wrote a big (all of his are) novel that had one hundred
different children, all born on the eve of India's independence, able to
communicate with one another in secret and unpredictible ways. A nice
literary device that fascinated me - but not enough to actually finish the
book.
It sort of reminds me of us (the k-list). Maybe that's why I was so
fascinated. Fascinated with my own future. I think we are soooo fortunate
to have one another - and I believe the world is blessed by this as well.

this is how i am understanding love;
if i cant love myself first who am i to say what i offer to others is
love? its easy to love my neighbor but to behold the same
scintillating light of consciousness in myself is at best difficult.
my gift is to see the hidden treasures within everyone, the beauty of
the creator, the radiant brilliance of an eternal dear one. i have
been burned by the holy fire looking into the hearts of gods and
goddesses.
my travail is to shrink before my own magnificence. to love others
before my self extends a shadow of what is truly so. a hypocrisy, not
really love. i would be bound by my own false perceptions,imprisoning
those too whom i offer my love.
when i can finally truly love myself then my love extended will
transform my world.

Didn't you state in a previous post that any ONE way was sure to be
unsuitable for many of us? Thank you for deliciously adding to my
