There is a lot of reverrence for Mahatma Gandhi all over the world, specially
in India. He is undoubtably the ONLY leader in the history of mankind who could
appeal to the masses and intellectuals alike, and the ONLY leader in history to
actually lead people AGAINST violent tendencies. We have all other leaders who
motivated men to war, to violence, to condemn and acts of destruction, physical
or social. Gandhi not only conceived that non-violence was the right way, but
actually carried it out, and we have had hordes of Indians who used to get
beaten and thrashed by the British soldiers and they never gave back one blow
in return.

It was Christ who insisted that when you get slapped on one cheek turn the
other. It was Gandhi who carried it out in spirit and in action.

Never before has there been a leader like him and it is likely that we might
not have anoher like him in future as well. Excellent orator, humanist, ideal
husband, a true religious renounciant.

A true Mahatma - a Great Soul.

Cheers and love to all.

This post is for IRC Lightworkers who frequent the superchat

will coincide with our friend Gina Allan coming to the States to visit. We
are putting out an invitation for you to join us (if not physically at
least in Spirit). Please see the following for the details:
>
>Dates: Aug. 6th beginning 5pm PST to Aug.10th 9:30am PST

>Pt. Montara Lighthouse Hostel, CA (isn't that an appropriate place for
lightworkers?!)

>Cost:
>$12/per nite per person
>$300 for day use of facility for 3 days to split equally among those coming.
>$1/per nite for bed linen if you don't bring a sleeping bag

The place has a fully equipped kitchen for this purpose.

to depart Aug. 10th., but you might also consider coming into the San Jose
airport as we found fares much cheaper.

accommodate some people for transportation?there is also bus service from
the San Francisco Airport (1-800-660-4845) that has a stop by the hostel.
Of course if you choose to make a vacation of this there are other hostels
in the area that will accommodate you before and after the dates of the

>Just in case you haven't gone to look at it yet...it is located 25 miles
south of San Francisco on the ocean because it is a restored lighthouse
built in 1875. The sleeping arrangements are dormitory style with a max of
6 people in a room. There is also a common meeting area with sofas and
chairs and a full size group kitchen. The beach is below with tidal pools
for our interests and there are some activities available in the area (as
tho anyone will want to go do something else...hehehehe) such as biking,
horseback riding, and then a trail up to the top of the mountain just
behind the lighthouse to view the sunset. (or there's always the hot tub to
rent for that) They tell me you can do whale-watching also... According
to the guy I talked to on the phone the setting is perfect for us and we
will love it.

I think there are many great souls who have come into the world. Each
have something to teach us. I believe that the era in which they
incarnate into also has something to with what they come into teach and
what message is found by the people. I am sure as we enter into the
Aquarian age, we will shift once again on the teachings and messages. I
wouldn't close the doors by saying there will probobly never be a leader
like him again. His role was to be seen and followed by many, but
there are many excellent silent leaders right now going about doing the
same sort of work, but in a way not known by all. We can learn a lot
from Gandhi, Christ, Buddha, Mother Theresa, and many other wise
teachers. It is up to us to decide how we want to follow their words
and actions. We can follow in Gahndi's path by living in love and
extending that love to others, or we can choose to live in violence
which also means judging others for their actions. Everything happens
for a reason. But I believe the path to enlightenment always ends up
going in the same direction. In a way of love for ourselves and others.
That is what brings all people together. Love and Light, Colleayn

hello, I have been a list member for a month or so now and am
appreciative of the interest and information that is gained from the
list. I study the qabalah and meditate regurlarly. i have experienced
similar symptoms as many of you. i regularly see mentioned the chakras
of the middle pillar ritual which i understand is for balance and
harmony. but why do you not use the other chakras of the body in
meditative study : namely-
Binah,Geburah,Hod,Chokmah,Chesed,Netzach----also the sacral chakra lines
up with Yesod on the tree of life, the naval chakra lines up with hod in
color -orange on the tree of life but is placed to the left on the tree
and is balanced by netzach, the solar plexis chakra lines up with
Tiphareth in placement and color. The throat chakra lines up with
Daath, the brow chakra or third eye is not on the tree as i know it but
is studied in other exercizes, the crown chakra lines up with Kether on
the tree of life but this on the tree symbolizes joining with the god
head. I may be trying to combine two separate things here but the name
sephira and chakra seem to be used interchangably and i would appreciate
it if someone could explain the difference. thank you Sekhmet

Not that it diminishes this great quotation at all, but I've somewhere heard
that a quote ascribed to Nelson Mandela (and I think it's this one) is
actually attributable to author and Course in Miracles lecturer Marianne
Williamson. I'm not saying it's true. However the language does sound like
vintage Williamson. Anybody know for sure?

Again, it doesn't matter. It's a great quote, I'm just curious.

Paul
