This is actually a serious point
Many people do end up crazed by K
and this is not a bad thing except in the West where
it can involve hospitalisation, therapy etc
If you do not fear madness you can have great
fun with psychiatrists and other professional control agents
but not everyone is strong enough to trust their insanity
- so they try and return to consensus reality
On the whole it is better to stay out of the clutches of
western psychiatry unless you are a danger to yourself or others
We do live in a society and most are happy to do so
and be a part of our respective cultures (if not all of its excesses)
But there is a little insanity in all of us
and in most kundalites more tham most
We are therefore more prone to see insane ideas as valid
and crazy thoughts as reality
It is therefore important to point out the craziness in
people - just as we nurture the joy
but and it is a big but
the value of a "crazy" person may be *more* than that
of those thinking more conventionally
because of the reaction, thoughts etc they bring out in us
This is why such people are not just welcome here
but part of this cyber family
a most blessed and sacred part
and we wish them well
They too are One with us
Now I leave the last word to Angelique Serpent . . .

'Wonder'
---------
How like an angel came I down!
How bright are all things here!
When first among his works I did appear
O how their glory me did crown!
     The world resembled his eternity,
      In which my soul did walk;
And ev'ry thing that I did see
      Did with me talk.
...

A native health and innocence
    Within my bones did grow,
And while my God did all his glories show,
I felt a vigour in my sense
That was all spirit. I within did flow
    With seas of life, like wine;
I nothing in the world did know
    But 'twas divine.

have visited Auschwitz and Birkenau in Poland and also went on an "anti-
fascist" cultural camp in West Germany at the site of an old
concentration camp at Neuengamme near Hamburg...

as an Oxford scholar i studied the nature of fascism, racism and
totalitarianism in depth and in search of understanding of the nature of
the engines of evil that have desecrated the lives of so many in this
century

at Neuengamme it was the gentle love and affection i found, mostly with
women, but not exclusively, that was about the only cause for hope in
the face of the madness of history...

shakti was awake then, but she offered no answers

she seemed to simply be watching in horror and disbelief

vivid memory of long night embracing and chastely kissing my beautiful
Polish guide Magda after touring Birkenau, holding to one another in
despair and loneliness after finding a picture of her mother's sisteer
amid so many victims, shavenheaded, anonymous, before going to die....

but i knew this night of desperate embrace was beautiful in its
expression of humanity and desperate belief in relationships and love in
the face of madness

but over the years this was a defining moment for i couldn't help
sensing just how futile it was - in primordial terms - even to hold onto
humanity as symbolised in the beauty and grace of Magda or own sense of
self or reason for it could all be destroyed in the fires of the Nazi
crematoria...or samsara in general....

our conditioned sense of reason and conventional relationship is
hopeless in the face of our own mortality

which, in Buddhist terms was just an extreme version of death and
impermanence and transience and the madness - that passes for sanity and
normality - of conditioned existence that the tantric path destroys

your flip remark about "professional help" shows how little you know
about the nature of the void or conditioned existence for it embodies
everything that is worst about the cliches of rationality, normality and
sanity that keep so many locked in fearful embrace of ego and
samsara....

the Tantric yogi meditates in the cremation grounds surrounded by the
crazy dakini lusting for his blood and mind garlanded in the skulls of
past yogis who have succumbed to the void

this Tantric yogi took Auschwitz, Birkenau, and Neuengamme as his own
inner cremation grounds, Western style

step by step, the intellect understood that shakti spelt its own demise
in the conventional sense of the word

even conventional ideas and experience of love and relationship must die
in these fires which is why Tantra is not for the fainthearted, the
sane, professionals or those attached to conventional purity

and its forms of words can offend and be incomprehensible to the
conditioned mind, as mine have proven to you, or so it seems....

all attachments die, be they to things, people, feelings, beliefs or
whatever....

there is inevitably a point in Tantric meditation when , by mundane
standards, one must become crazy enough to die and dissolve all sense of
self, be it mundane or spiritual or transcendental, one must volunteer
for the crematorium....

one deliberately dies in the conventional sense and that includes any
attachment to reason, or conceptual thought of any kind
whatsoever....for a while at least....which is,well, not exactly right,
but makes the point...

in fact it is the ultimate act of sanity, because the void is the only
thing that can be trusted, that cannot be taken away or die or decay

everything disappears into the empty cave, footsteps in, no one comes
out....

it took a long time for the shakti to work out the knot of apparently
normal enlightened intellectual attachment to conventional reason and
underlying fear and denial of the real nature of physical death and
samsara/suffering arising from conditioned mind that was most clearly
defined in those visits to the concentration camps

Phil, your negativity to everyone and everything on this list suggests
you have got things the wrong way round here.

you are cursing your own darkness, which i am happy to embrace for as
long as it takes,

but i am not sure everyone else on this list is....

is this about light, goddess, liberation, or phil ?

to lose oneself in relationship with the void is the best thing that can
happen as one embraces anything and anyone, and fellow yogis wanting to
explore themselves and other,

well, why not share and relate instead of judge and criticise and
contract both your experience and that of your audience,

all it takes is a few drops of poison and the well is undrinkable for us
all, except the Tantric yogis....

the last stop before enlightenment is often hell, when all escape routes
for the conditioned mind are exhausted and there is nowhere else to
turn....

and the greatest yogis choose to stay in hell with others and lose
themselves in relationship with other so that they can relieve their
suffering and help them discover their true nature

so there're no masters of Tantra lording it over humanity,

but there are plenty of hells and i know many of them very well, as i
have created them for myself and witnessed others doing so,

and in a sense seeing what's happened on the list is just one more
little glimpse of hell, and your hell is my hell, my friend

and one common form of hell is rooted in alienated experience from light
and the big experience of compassion and wisdom in which one has nothing
to offer anyone and nothing to help others on their way....

it is rather like talking to oneself and cursing the darkness until the
body dies and it's all over until the next time....

the ultimate tantric experience is to become fully human and open to
relationship with other and that is , to most people, recognised in an
ability to feed others with nourishment and truth that enables them to
explore their expansive higher nature, dissolve the problem of their
lives and deaths, rather than exacerbate that problem and withdraw into
an alienated or critical fearful shell in which an expert or
professional will seek to fix them

if you are a spiritual teacher, then why not convey something to us of
the secrets of freedom and love ?

can't we find something to share ?

unlock the secrets to our true natures....

for the first time since getting on the net i have actually winced at
something someone has posted...i have dumped your messages and nearly
all of the relies to your messages as they seemed to bring out the worst
in many, which is unusual on the list,

and have wondered whether to respond at all as you make it so hard to
share anything or exchange knowledge and information freely as it seems
to be some kind of competition or battle or judgement day rather than a
shared journey of discovery

we're certainly a sympathetic audience by any yogic standard....

and many of us are open to teaching....

you say you've been doing this since the 70s so surely you must have
something positive to say about us all, are we all that stupid, surely
we've done well to get this far as kundalini yoga is hardly a mass sport
?

there are people on this list with genuine worries or who simply want to
learn and share their experiences and knowledge, and time and energy is
precious,

and i am one of those people who have found an unusual quality to this
list and value its integrity

a diverse global community of yogis talking openly about an
extraordinary phenomenon that is, in essence, an experience of
God....what could be more worthwhile than that ?

more so when shakti is involved, why waste it arguing about who's right
when there's plenty of room for all of us without resorting to defensive
responses....

i don't mind what you say or do as in the end it's you who will pay or
at least that's how it will seem,

but i am worried about your pupils....honestly, what happens when they
disagree with you ?

listening is crucial in any spiritual practice, all these posts are
trying to tell you something.

if you can't find allies here then where can you ?

i wish you well, but your bullets are wasted as they are aimed at non-
existent targets called sunyata/emptiness/void/compassion and wisdom....

yogi Tom is a figment of your imagination....

you win, you're right, i'm useless, ignorant, sad and in need of
professional help,

okay. it's on the record now, you know all the answers and have all the
correct opinions.

this list is far bigger than you or i or everyone else you have locked
horns with - and what we do and say here matters as much as anything
else, especially when people die, people do indeed go mad wrestling with
shakti, lives are poisoned and wasted and undermined through psychiatric
labelling in so many ways that i would have thought a teacher of yoga
would be sensitive to this, even with shakti many people misuse the
energy and descend into hell realms taking others with them.....

the realms of hungry ghosts are filled with souls desperate to unlock
the secrets of the heart and the shakti....

many have met shakti in some form or other but lack the understanding to
know what to do with this experience

one of the things i have loved in my short time on the list is its
spirit of cooperation and generosity and encouragement and honest
appraisal of posts and one's insights....

it seems to have brought out the best in everyone and i have searched
far and wide around the world for soulmates, and this is the closest i
have come to my ideal free spirit network, partly because so many have
offered encouragement and recogntion that yogi Tom along with many
others has something to share, and partly because things work well and
with a generosity that is unusual

i find none of those qualities in your posts, which makes them unique to
the list......

this is a shame for all of us

amid all my hundreds of email messages over the past few weeks, yours
stand out as - quite literally - the only ones with any negativity or
aggression or cliched psychiatric contemptuous labels...

so either i have encountered a great yogi who has touched a raw nerve
and is able to destroy my illusions through negativity and criticism,

or the list is acting as a mirror to you and somehow there's something
to be learnt here....your choice, your contracted experience, your
release....

why not email yogi Tom privately, and we can work this out together, as
it seems to be little old me that is the cause of all this
reactivity....

you be the psychiatrist,

tell me the way it is

apply the medication of the ego and i will swallow it whole

and crap it out and put it where it belongs

not sure the list will want to read your reply given its current mood,

but maybe that's not important to you ?

why not drop me a private email all to myself on this thread ?

or perhaps you will just go on reinforcing your own conditioning in the
face of so many signposts that this is not a wise course of action

and poisoning the well from which we all have to drink...

I saw a dead snake today but my K seems intact. Yesterday I saw an
incredible close up beautiful picture (on the back cover of this month's
International Wildlife) of the head of a green and yellow snake. The dead
snake was green and yellow and it was in the middle of a country road -
about 1/3 of the way into my lane and 1/3 of the way into the oncoming lane.
I had once seen a live snake take up a lane plus in about the same spot on
that road; it was right before my K began...that was quite a sight.

The list arguements and ego skirmishes make me sad.

These were WOW's for me today. Lovely, awe inspiring WOW's. I loved reading
them and feeling them enter me. Just loved it.

The ego wars however, seem just ho hum routine stuff like my workday: I can
hardly understand why A is insulted by B because I thought B was trying to
insult C whose response is somewhat incomprehensible and then, really I
can't figure out how ANY of them have enough time to respond at such length,
etc., etc. etc. It's all a mystery hardly worthy of our attention, except
it is us. Sigh,,,

Dear Kunfires

My euphoria for the emergence of raving poet Tom from the carcass of
straight-laced yogi Tom was dashed today when I read this post:

> and i am one of those people who have found an unusual quality to this
> list and value its integrity

Who is this "i" and what have you done with mad Tom? The world is rife
with gurus and one wonders if they would be missed if they plunge
themselves into the sea.

But mad poets are a rare breed whose contributions would be sorely
missed. We had a street person who made a living playing spoons at the
Pike Place Market in Seattle. The song "Spoon man" (all my friends are
black and tan) by Soundgarden set fame's hounds upon him, and he plays
the market no more.

COME BACK MAD TOM AND SING TO US

I thank Lobster for setting poetry in motion on this list and Phil for
driving Tom over the edge. I would nominate Morgana to play the pipes
until all the other gurus are likewise mad or far into the Pacific. I
think she lives on the Oregon coast. Only the mad ones will do for me.

Guru joe
11 bovine disciples
unafraid of madness
which is totally unbalanced

ps: I spent a week in a mental ward. The food wasn't bad but they
wouldn't let me turn my music up or have electroshock therapy (we had
nobody resembling Nurse Ratchet.) So don't knock it if you haven't
tried it. It is a great opportunity for direct confrontation with
yourself. The labels we apply to the apparent condition of our fellow
travelers, are bricks in our own jail.

Yes lobster, I am advocating madness. Should I start my own school?
Please suggest some names for my style. How about "The Way of the
Lemming" or "Kundachosis"

I totally agree with you! I have been shocked at my findings when screening

Your name gives connotations of Alice in Wonderland, and I have liked
your appropriate singsong postings throughout the K-list. They seem
worthy of a compliation into a book.

I expect to express myself my views about one connecting oneself
to his inner self when I write on mind further. My problem at present is
that I am not comfortable in expressing on computer keys, I am still
learning. Some solution will come in shortly.

For last five years I was going thro' terrible pain due to this
so called K-energy. I was also feeling loniness as there was noone to
talk and take help. I went to Himalayas and to many other places. None
could understand my process. My inner voice was all the time advising me
to always rmain in samta or balance. People in India know theortically
about K but I could not get even one cotraveller.

Today I know how Vedas were written. Inner voice is the voice of
collective intelligence . All the life that has crossed over in past
centuries has left their intelligence at Buddhic level wherefrom any one
can tap with THOUGHTLESS AWARENESS which vacates his own mind so that he
can receive knowledge or love or any other thing which unites humanity.
My process of K -energy is still going on. But now struggle is
gone.K-energy with SAMTA OR BALANCE is the fastest process of evolution
and one can end this process ultimately by merging at a level where

both merging parties are ready. ram

Ok going to this event this weekend, any of you experts could explain
more about it: ?

Background:

Venerable Lama Kalsang Gyaltsen is the resident
lama and director of Sakya Phuntsok Ling. A widely
recognized and accomplished teacher of Buddhist
philosophy and meditation, his guidance of students
and direction of center activities have been praised
as exemplary by the leaders of the Sakya Order. He
has studied both sutra and tantra extensively and
spent long periods in meditative retreat.

Also, I have a book called Tibetan Mandalas by Dr. Lokesh Chandra, full

OK, my roomate brought me back a rock from the Colliseum(sp) in
Italy. I have tried meditating on it, loosening up myself by thinking of
its history(chaotic, misdirected cheerfulness), with some weird feelings.
Anyone know some good ice breakers or good techniques that may help me
experience "Caeser's Void"?

thanks,
