Hello k-ites,
Keeping ones feet on the ground while gazing at the heavens - sound
advice ... makes me think of the Japanese Sakurahanami and Umehanami or
Cherry and Plum Blossom Viewing festivals. Westerners tend to see these
as almost mystically motivated rituals developed by inscrutible
oriental philosophers to guide the people in their communion with
nature.
Tozen Akiyama, my smiling, Zen-Buddhist-priest, Japanese-language
instructor confided to the class that what usually happens is the
Nipponese folks go out into the cherry or plum orchards at the full
moon and drink sake until they fall flat on their backs; from which
position they declare they are 'viewing' the fleeting beauty of the
cherry blossoms against the light of the moon! Sounds like a
well-grounded mystical experience to me =-).
Yes, he smiled at that revelation, too. I never new him to lie, but
I wonder if he wasn't pulling the class's collective Western legs?

hmmm. this is interesting... and beautiful.... but anyhow, tho it seems to
veer off it is just some sharing on sky-gazing...
i had a cherokee languag teacher (my interest stemming from my heritage) the
punctuation of one of the syllables in a synthetic lingo he was also teaching
me, involved the use of a carat (shift 6)... he got me to remember this by
the direction the cherokee is looking, "UP THERE" or galunlati, the heavenly
'father', etc etc... but it's funny that everybody knows to look up.... i
think the sky & beyond is the great equalizer... and certainly focusing on
the sky has helped me in my path with divine connection & perspective when
things get a little rutty here...

this is a new phase in your spiral. for me, without anyone to bounce it
around on, i found myself seeming to regress in other things when progressing
in something else. it did not turn out to be that, but an integration. in
time i understood. patience... it comes together...

I have a surprise answer to the question of suicide. Yogananda said it
depends on your state of consciousness. If you are enlightened it is all
right. This is in Hindu scripture. Not that anyone should do it. I am not
advising that. But just so that we do not think they are automatically
accruing bad karma or going to burn in Hell forever.

Dear yogis and spiritual beings, May i offer the following thoughts in
the light of so much cult madness in Canada and USA in last few
days....as well as my own profound deathwish that surfaced quite
dramatically for a few days as shakti got to work on subconscious in
1991.

A useful model of evolution of consciousness drawing on chakras and
Western cultural norms and some very simple Tibetan Buddhism...intended
as a reference system for wouldbe Tantric yogis, chelas and sect members
so that they might not repeat history:

Four foundations:

first foundation: individualistic, rational, autonomous ego rooted in
lowest three chakras, physical and mental health - "normal"

second foundation: emergence of conventional higher emotions in romance
in paticular, as well as social conscience and compassion, and even
divine aspects of heart chakra - balanced by rationality giving shape
and direction to life and belief system, integrated spiritual being
emerges

third foundation: purer forms of culture and some mystical traditions
become relevant - emergence of transcendental understanding with
refining of all or some aspects of experience - senses, emotions,
intellect, body....can manifest in form of unusual creativity in
cultural forms such as music, art, philosophy, as throat chakra opens
and perception of reality reaches unusal intensity and depth...can
occasionally produce creative genius, but more often psychic phenomena

fourth foundation: Tantric practice becomes relevant - as throat chakra
opens further, esoteric path to enlightenment opens up and all previous
mundane methods, beliefs and rules may soon become redundant - even old
rationality no longer needed, thus need for esoteric or hidden nature of
spiritual practice as not relevant to the lower three foundations,
especially the ego of the first foundation. Pandora's Box potentially,
as spiritual seeker may even break moral and ethical and cultural norms
to break down old conditioning which is essential to maintaining order
and civilised behaviour in a society dominated by consciousness rooted
in three lowest chakras. esoteric practice can result in Brahman
consciousness, mystical unity as head chakras open and liberate full
potential of transcendental consciousness and understanding.

beyond the four foundations: after unity comes total dissolution of all
conditioning, even of the most sublime transcendental kind as even in
Brahman consciousness there is a subtle but tangible form of
conditioning rooted in a very pure form of spiritual egotism.

the end of it all: surely the efficacy of one's spiritual practice can
ultimately be judged by the measure of whether one is of use to others,
whether on spiritual or material levels, or both, in whatever ways make
the most of the resources and particular gifts available to the old
personality that is burnt clean by this process.

the problem of the methods of the fourth foundation entering the mundane
realms of understanding: when the sometimes crazy and paradoxical
methods and belief or conceptual systems of this Tantric realm start to
permeate worlds not ripe in spiritual terms to use such craziness in
creative ways to dissolve conditioning, the phenomena such as we have
seen with the two cult suicides can result very easily and with a
compelling logic that can overwhelm very intelligent people with
everything to live for. So much so, that they are determined to take
others with them - ironically, for the purest of motives.

Even when there is a spiritual teacher (lama, guru or swami, for
instance) involved in this esoteric Tantric realm, that begins with the
full opening of the throat chakra and beyond, things can go badly wrong
if the teacher is no good (in transcendnetal terms, not mundane ones)
and is working from a false sense of self, or the followers are not up
to the teachers' methods or have not laid a proper spiritual foundation
on the first two levels, integrating rationality and heart functions.

the heart is the safest place to be: no one ever died from selflessly
loving too much even if they might have scattered energy through trying
to realise spiritual ambitions beyond their capabilities, however, some
people have gone badly wrong getting into their heads before the time
was right to develop metaphysical insight that blows away the mundane
understanding. Thus, for instance, Sri Chinmoy's, Adi Da's and Dalai
Lama's admonition to work with kindness and heart and compassion.

the crucial dramatic tension between head and heart: the perennial
existential dualistic dilemma between the balance of head and heart can
become a matter of sanity and insanity, life and death, murder or
suicide if one taps into the esoteric realms of the fourth foundation
without understanding that powerful and profound forms of understanding
are required BEFORE embarking into these Tantric realms. not much time
to work all this out once things get moving in earnest, thus the need
for a careful and deep preparation before entering them in earnest.

two forms of pure archetypes you may find useful: in Tibetan Buddhism
there is a dynamic interplay between wisdom, both practical and mundane,
and transcendental, and compassion, again, both practical and mundane,
and divine.

Wisdom takes the form of Manjushri (Tibetan:Jamyang) who carries the
scriptures in one hand and a flaming sword of discrimination in the
other to cut through delusions.

Compassion takes the form of Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan: Chenrezi) who can
appear in many forms but often has innumerable arms to perform countless
deeds of kindness to help suffering beings on every level of conditioned
existence.

While one may initially associate Manjushri with the purest and most
integrated energies of the head chakras, ultimately he too becomes one
with Chenrezi in the heart wherein our true identity lies.

Thus wisdom and compassion are like two rays of light emanating from the
same sun and penetrating the clear sunlit pool of the purified and
enlightened mind. One will recognise an enlightened being for what they
are by the way in which this light manifests for other beings, revealing
their true natures and empowering them to become free and serve the
needs of others. This can be a very subtle process, so best to look very
carefully and look deep to spot it.

Kundalini is surely simply a means to rediscover this state of
primordial unconditioned being that can penetrate into and mirror the
true spiritual nature within us all.

Who needs suicide when there's so many in need of so much in so many
ways ? In some ways suicide is the ultimate narcissism...tangled in
process of trying to pull self up by own bootlaces when, well, who is
this self trying to do all this stuff ?

Tantra is basically the method of spiritual development that becomes
useful to most people with the emergence of the fourth foundation.
therefore be very careful with it especially if empowered by shakti.
once entering the cave of revelation there can be no backing out, and
there is a technical aspect to these realms that, if missing from one's
uderstanding, can tear apart one's destiny very rapidly even where the
heart is pure and the intentionwas always to help others. Thus, Tantra
will only ever be relevant to the most exceptional seekers who can
balance and integrate mind, heart and body and, most likely, enjoy the
opportunity for full-time practice at some stage.

of course, there are many exceptions to this model - such as simply
being spontaneously transformed by the descent of divine grace without
any foundation at all in conventional sense, but having thought about it
for many years, it seems to encompass the realms that many encounter and
helps place Tantric practice in context and can provide a clear
conceptual framework so people can understand the correct places for
rationality and letting go of rationality on the spiritual path, and ths
see when secret knowledge is entering the mundane realms of conditioned
understanding as seems to have occurred all too often in the case of
suicidal and murderous sects of the recent past. Yogi Tom/SILVER DAWN

Hello, all :)
Last night lines kept dancing through my head, so I thought I would
chain them to a page.. here is what I ended up with (I thought maybe some
of you would appreciate this)::

 Another world
 A magical place
 A realm beyond my grasp
 Sparkling streams
 And crystal skies
 Not found on any map
 Rest here, weary traveller
 The enchanting beauty calls
 Listen to the haunting sound
 Of roaring waterfalls
 Leave behind your agony
 Don't bring hate or greed
 Judgement is not welcome here
 Love is all we need
 Infinity spins, a melody calls
 Dare you join the dance?
Whirl and float and dance beyond
The land of tarnish and brass
Do you like my dreamland, friend?
 If you do, then stay
But if you wish to wander, child
By all means, go your way.

I hope you enjoyed that.. something told me I should post it here, and so
I did :)

List members and Jim,

I was in the book store and I just had this urge to go get a book on this
subject. So as I am wading through all this stuff a woman came up to me and
started talking to me about this one book I should get. She went on and on
about how easy it was and who the guy was that wrote the book and what kind of
teaching he was doing and how she had taken his classes etc. She said his
name is Chen Menchine. I am quite sure I have not spelled it correctly and she
didn't know the correct spelling either. But I took this woman's sudden
interest in my search as another sign that this is what I should be doing. Of
course they didn't have the book and for some reason I had to have a book. I
was compelled not to leave the store without one. So I went through all the
books again and found one I bought. It's probably a beginner's it's called
"Tai Chi, Step by Step (the natural way to strength and health" by Master Lam
Chuen. Have you heard of either of these guys? Does anyone have an opinion on
these?

So Jim please email me privately so I can ask more questions of you. I will
take you up on your offer to help. This is new to me and I am so confused.
Thank you in advance for your responses !
Pamela

Yogi Tom,

You were saying that you finally had complemented your Yin and Yang; that
you were living in celibacy or Brahamcharya. How do you maintain the
balance, as living in celibacy in the society must be like (and is) sliding
on a razor edge. Do you avoid all sorts of stimuli, including spicy food,
alcohol et cetera?

  Whee! It is spring!
  Faerie energy is calling us
into the wheels of infinity,
Dancing down the path
 to Dan G.'s Meadow.

 Blessed be,
 the Daffodills blooming
bring the golden spring sunlight into
 4D sharp focus
 promise of spring renewal,
 life goes on everlasting,
thru the illusions of winter's death
and the soft patter of March rain
very lamblike.
  We have free will
 to choose to stay
in the perfection of love,
 or to wander the halls
of darkness and separation.

 Eden Awaits
 our recognition of it's prescence
 here on Earth.

  Blessings of the season,
 Angelique
and the infinity of monkeys
sharing Faerie voices.

It seems to us such a tragedy that these men felt the need to leave this
plane of existence now, rather than waiting until the time of death to come
to them. I do not agree with the choice they made, but I must respect it,
even if it does cause me sadness. I truely hope that their families will
come to terms with the difficult choice their loved ones made, all we can do
is send love to the universe and hope to raise the positive vibration levels,
IMHO. I do not know about the rest of you, but the energy has been very
'wierd' recently- and esp. today. I have had a very hard time staying
focused, yet there is an incredible urge of creativity in me that I do not
know how to express, all I tried did not work, but I am trying to be patient
with it all. Perhaps this strange energy is affecting a great deal of us,
and I wish their families all the best in this time of sorrow. Sorry for
rambling.... like I said strange energy.
Light and Love,
Lori

I have all planets from the 9th to the 12 house. Virgo in the 11th
house conjunct with chiron. Moon in Leo, Scorpio rising.
...also what about Saturn transit that is happening right now? As I
understand it Aries, Cancer, Libra are all being affected. The 31st can
be a really emotional day for them. Major changes due to the Moon
eclipse .. and the Mystical triangle on Jan 23rd will cause some major
upheavels according to Jacqueline Bigar (Phili astrologer) in June..
Probably relating to a Business War..
any thoughts on that??

I agree, I took Reiki specifically to help me stay at a distance and
grounded.. Its much easier when your an Empath to use Reiki. One of the
experiences that led me to it was picking up the emotional trauma of
someone I was working on. It took me a couple of hours to get free of
it...

Flute....

Would love to do your chart - send me your DOB, place & time (if known) and
I'll get to it asap.

As I told DanRF, I no longer do astrology natal charts, nor do I keep up with
what's happening in the astrological world today or tomorrow as it relates to
everyday events. There are a zillion other astrologers that are much more
knowledgeable than I am in this field.

My only interest in astrology, at this time, is how it relates to K and the
windows of opportunity that may or may not be involved in it - purely
research. For those that showed an interest in their chart being done, I
will not be going into detail on anything other than how it relates to K
activity & awakening. Like I said, I have not been able to find any books
with this info in it (although they probably are out there somewhere), and
I'm doing it solely for the purpose of curiosity. I do not know how all of
this will turn out, but the more charts & information I have for those who
have had a K awakening, the more accurate it will be. Or not. I don't know.
Indulge me - bring on the charts!

Will be back to everyone who wrote, personally, over the next several days.
Thanks for all of your help!

Subject: Antaris--Where Are YOU?
Message-Id: <333B40F0.54BFATnospamflarity.com>

I usually sleep like a baby in my Vanpool, but today I listened to the
news and worried. I remember Antaris was very keen on 'ascending' and
becoming one with the Federation ship following the comet.

Is anyone in contact with him? I would like to verify that he is still
planning to have the Federation come to get him rather than trying to
meet them halfway or some other mortally dangerous method of space
travel.

I would appreciate a direct reply from anyone with knowledge about
Antaris.
