Dear Aaron,

First let me say that I did enough psychedelics (albeit 30 years
ago)
that I know what they are like and what they can do. I then became a K
yogi. In the group I was in, there were so many ex hippies that the head
of the group "sort of allowed" nutmeg to be used as the unnofficial
pyschedelic since all "normal" drugs were banned. I did it a few times.

Personally I don't like it. I found the pysychedelic effect was
mitigatd by extreme sluggishness and the hangover to end all hangovers.
I will not make any judgements on your use of it but, personally, I
prefer a good session of yoga followed by some intense chanting before
meditating. That does it for me, better than nutmeg ever did.

I fell compelled to quote from an excellent post by Tom Aston on
the list this morning, just in case you missed Tom's post:

"I found that piecemeal approaches to handling symptoms were not
very
effective and could even make things worse as the energy was so subtle
and had a will of its own that no particular system of
diet/cleansing/yoga or meditation could harness. The only approach that
worked in the long run was a total review - evolving through a natural
and spontaneous process of observation and questioning my inner
experience - of every detail of my mind body and heart and so that my
life became more and more integrated and balanced - this meant a
relatively pure vegetarian diet, enough physical exertion and Oriental
bodywork (I tried aikido, tai chi, hatha yoga, qi kung, shiatsu and
swimming) to stop me going into my head and getting all psychic - and
learning the savasana technique of yoga in depth - reaching into the
very bottom of the mind and body - whereby one
allows the kundalini to take over one's whole being as it is our
conditioned mind and ego consciousness that kundalini wants to kill -"

Tom is talking abut dealing with K symptoms but he could just as
easily be talking aobut improving the energy of your meditation.

Hope I don't sound too preachy and I hope you find the way that
gives
you the most fulfillment.

 Regards,

 Antion

TO sleeping dragon,
I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I have only been studying kundalini
and have not yet tried to awaken it, althought I feel myself getting a
little anxious at times--which I know is wrong. I feel that I need a teacher
to help guide me through the process. If you are doing a research paper, I
would like to recommend two good books that I think will help you. One is
called "Joy's way", by W.Brugh Joy,M.D.
The other is called "wheels of life" by Anodea Judith. I am working on two
term papers for two different classes, and guess what they are on?
KUNDALINI!!!
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!!!!!!!!!!!

As for this list and the whole of cyberspace I am Nothing Is, not Joe.
There is no need to revert back to physical identity to be here now in

Nothing_Is is a name that pays homage to the avant-garde jazz musician

Yeah, sometimes I hear bits and pieces of voices. I used to ignore them as
nothing more than mind static, perhaps something similar to the after image
you get on closed eyelids. But lately I've decided to listen and try to
figure these voices out.

Sometimes I might get a sentence that makes sense, but it's as if there is
difficulty in getting the message across. Other times, it seems to be
nothing more than either static or a bleed through from another dimension,
or who knows? perhaps touches of radio waves or mind waves crossing the same
channel. So I may listen, but without straining. Just take it easy and
don't push or be in a hurry.

There have been times when I've heard that still, small voice that takes me
by surprise with a meaningful message that stays with me through the years.
But there was an experience I had in the 1960s that really got my attention,
and that was when I actually heard a voice and felt a powerful presence in
my room. The voice said, "You must strive for perfection." And the it
called me by name. Really got my heart to thumping. I interpret it as God
speaking to me.

Now I've been wondering if anyone has heard what I call psychic sounds, for
lack of a better name. The first time I heard them, it was the door bell at
2 am. I got up to answer it and no one was there. And then I realized the
door bell had sounded in my mind. I've heard someone knock on the door and
when I mentioned this to a friend, he told me he would hear the phone ring.
I figured that these were the same as when one hears their name called and
when they turn to look, no one is there. These are all attention-calling
sounds. And I've interpreted them as such. But when I visited a monastery
once and was meditating, I was startled to hear the sound of a bumble bee
enter the top of my head. I didn't know what that meant. Then just before
I got out of bed yesterday morning, I heard a truck start up. I figured I
was being told that I was raring to go, in more ways than one. I had
meditated earlier on the point below my navel and it was like a cauldron of
energy that was flowing into another cauldron of energy at my crown. I
didn't feel restless from it, just relaxed and buzzy. When I practiced Tai
Chi, it felt as if I were swirling in a diaphanous current of energy.

I mention the sounds because I think they might carry messages, just as
voices and dreams and other experiences do. Sometimes I can figure out the
messages but sometimes they remain a puzzle.

Comments? Enlightenment?

What's the recommended way of doing nutmeg? Drinking it, eating it? Or
should one do it nasally for the full effect.

Just wondering.

Subject: K. List Shaktipat site...?
Message-Id: <199703130213.SAA07752ATnospamweb.iceonline.com>

I find it funny, I send out a post with instructions on how to
un/subscribe yourself, and I get responses from members asking me to
do it for them...did they not read the post at all or what? (laff
laff,) no sweat..it's done already.

I got little response from this idea, so here it is again...
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I am redoing the Kundalini website, as it is
moving servers I must go in and change host addresses, etc.
Originally I had planned to host the K.site within, but disconnected
from my own site under my provider's (
www.iceonline.com/serpent/kundalini.) address. But, alas free speech
on the web is not, so I must change my plans.

My Domain is censored by some providers, not because it is obscene,
but rather because the Web-bots who crawl the web looking for
keywords can't tell the difference between pornography and
psychology. I am looking for another provider to host the site, so
that it will not share the same fate....It might anyway, the
Web-bots can't tell the difference between pornography and
  spirituality, either...

Also I am considering adding a page of K. inspiring imagery. We have
mentioned the concept of online Shaktipat a few times on the list,
and it occurred to me that a page of images that connect to the K. of
members might be a way to do that.

So I am looking for personal symbols to represent members who are
willing to participate in this project. Ideally, a symbol or image
that is personally connected to your K. power, small and easily
downloaded...I can shrink them if need be.

Invest the symbol for yourself with blessings and love, and place it
in perfection of your highest good and outside of time, so that you
are protected from having the energy be drawn away when you have
little to spare, and to make certain that the connection is one way.
I do not intend for this page to be flashing negative energies from
the browsers back to the symbol/energy donors. Love going out will
be love coming back, threefold. Connect the image with the aspect of
yourself that is outside of time and space, so the symbol's energy
will not be soured if you happen to be having a bad day. This idea
is partly inspired by the image ATnospam
  http://www.halcyon.com/sahajnet/SM2.gif
Sahaj's picture is famous for the shaktipat online it generates.

If you do not wish to be a part of the shaktipat online but have a
favorite meditation image that you wish to share, send it on as
  well, specifying it's purpose.

PLEASE!!! DO NOT POST THE IMAGES TO THE LIST ADDRESS!!! PLEASE PLEASE
PRETTY PLEASE WITH BLUE FIRE ON TOP!!!!
Apologies for the caps, this is important. Post them directly to me,
if you wish to generate discussion on them, put them on your website
and post the URL on the list or ask me to post them. I will put up a
secret "Work in progress" page on my site and post the URL. I am a
Windows3.1 user, so please send standardized types of images such as
Gifs or Jpegs. I cannot get into some types of Mac images. Possibly
someone with greater image capability might step forth to translate
  them for me?

Do not to send email with attatchments to the list. They tend to jam
the server because they are larger than the average email. They mess
up the K. list Digest version which is parceled out according to
time passed/file size. A post with an image attached may be sent out
as a Digest by itself, an annoyance to List Members who subscribe to
the digest because of mail volume limitations. Also, they may crash
the systems of people who are not equipped for images or large
emails, or for an attatchment of that type. If they get mail at
work, it might tie up the company system. Oops! Others are
suspicous becuase they fear viruses clinging to attatchments, and
delete all attachments. (sounds very zen...) In other words, they
bounce like crazy. Images are usually shared by putting them on your
website and posting the URL. Or mentioning thier existence and
offering to forward individually to any who request. Or just send
  them to me.

If you don't follow these posting guidelines, expect to be flamed by
other members whose systems you crash...Not me, I make no threats.

But I think a sizzling Shaktipat page would be a fine addition to
  the K. site.

 Blessings, List Mystress.

Apparently, one can make an appointment for shaktipat with
this Kundalini master after one attends two of her public

over the U.S. I have never attended, so have no other info.
She apparently has taken up mass shaktipat as her calling/mission.

Dear Aaron,

>From the "Complete Aromatherapy Handbook":

Nutmeg both calms and strengthens. It stimulates the digestive and
circulatory systems. It induces intense dream activity. The essential
oil is toxic. Do not add to bath water. As little as one teaspoon of
the oil can be fatal. Take no more than one drop once or twice a day.

It sounds like we need to get the FEDS involve regulating nutmeg. It
looks to be as active as LSD and more toxic.

Good Work,

Joe

Dear nutmeg trippers and mantra mumbling ex-hippies,

recognition at last ! so nice to be quoted as useful guide for handling
kundalini in a positive and healthful way. All kundalini does in some
ways is make it essential that one develops spiritually in a yogic
sense, using all the spontaneous energy and knowledge to hand. Never
impose a method on kundalini, but see what it likes and play with
it.....things can be very easy and powerful if only one listens
intuitively and acquires enough sensitivity and wisdom to understand
that the straight lines, rationality and conceptualisation (along with
all its Freudian hangups) of Western culture are moreorless irrelevant
when thinking about kundalini - one needs spirals, paradoxes, laughter,
childlike curiosity, gentleness, wholeness, spirituality - the best
guide to this kind of view is Da Free John who has been fairly prolific
with Dawn Horse Press in finding a language to suit kundalini. Ours is a
dead, materialistic, fragmented culture in many ways, badly in need of
the fire and fun and holistic universe that comes with the kundalini
experience. Is this useful ? Any specific feedback would be helpful as I
am writing on these themes for a Western readership - Good surfing on
the kundalini breakers - here comes the tube....Yogi Tom/Silver Dawn

dear gpiper,
voices, psychic phenomena, inner guides, imagined noises - I know them
well. If I was you I'd start breaking them down to work out what was the
genuine voice of the emergent pure energy of the unconscious
articulating in the conscious realm and what was psychic claptrap or at
best signposts that things are getting cleaned out of the mind and the
senses. In themselves, all these things can be a great obstacle unless
one understands where they are all leading. What about dreams ? Often
these can be really powerful in the longterm by evoking a symbolic form
for the conscious self to hold up as a mirror to itself and discover its
true nature.

If I was you I would stop meditating on the chakras below the heart as
these can be a source of all kinds of trouble. Stay with the heart and
why not meditate on the heart or just bear witness with the heart while
doing your tai chi - in other words move out of the hara as this is
centred on the svadhisthana which is a minefield of psychic and sexual
trouble unless really pure.

Have you tried writing all the psychic phenomena down in a diary so one
gets a better picture of just what is going on inside your head and how
the best policy may be to just watch, be still and let it pass, Zen
style. Remember that our true identity resides in the heart and that the
brain is simply the sixth sense and needs to be purified and refined
like all the other senses on the road to purity and clear vision.

You need to move on from the psychic to the pure and spiritual....the
only real question is whether you can get out of your head and into your
heart....barefoot walking on the earth is also good for this, powerful
hot showers, swims in cold water - one needs a bit of paganistic body
awareness ! What about some holistic body and head work by a sympathetic
professional ? I found that I had to set up a kind of holistic
environment so I would simply engulf all my resistance to kundalini in a
sea of spiritual practice, holistic healing and relaxation. Life took on
an extraordinary quality of spiritual unfolding and wholeness....

Have you read Lee Sannella - The Kundalini Experience, this may reassure
you that head noises etc are not unusual in kundalini awakening.
Good luck to you - would like to hear if any of this makes sense or is
of practical use - Yogi Tom/Silver Dawn Media

Discussion only! Do not try this at home! Warning! Discussion only!
..............................................................................

I had some friends who were into snorting ground nutmeg in junior high
school. They got me to try it, finally...didn't notice a thing except how
hard it was to get all that brown crap out of my sinuses. They tried to
smoke banana skins, too.
I thought they were silly...I was an ascetic in those days.
That was before I remembered that I'm an ancient witch who is into potions.
  Hedonists have more fun, anyway...

Speaking of toxic and fatal, does anyone know anything about Datura?

I have a flower pressed into a book, a large fiery orange trumpet shaped
bloom with 6 tentacle streamers coming off the end. It is an African Datura
blossom given me by a wiccan friend who is an experienced herbalist.
Datura is a famous heartstopping poison, but is also hallucinogenic in
small doses.
My friend uses it in sacred ritual only, burning a single dried blossom as
incense in a room with several people. He handles it with care, and
describes a trip in which all prescences and spirits become visible within
10 minutes, followed by deep trance and astral travel.
He also tells about a foolish non-pagan friend who rolled an entire bloom
up and smoked it.
He got into a deep metaphysical conversation with the washing machine for
five hours, then rearranged every single object in the house obsessively for
as long as that took (many hours) and then passed out for a day or so. Quite
a hangover, apparently.
Nasty stuff, deadly poison, ancient sacred medicine.
The trip intrigues, but I like to keep my heart beating...cat's curiosity.
I have numbers of nonphysical beings hanging around me, but only get
occasional glimpses of them, I tend to feel them rather than see them.
  So, I do research.
 Blessings, Angelique.

Dear Dragon,

Wake up ! Kundalini is permanent in the sense that even if its
psychophysical energy seems to have disappeared after awaekning, it
leaves a permanet and indestructible impression of the mind. Jung said
in an unpublished paper that it would take a 1,000 years or more of
depth psychology to achieve even a little of kundalini's impact on the
unconscious mind in a few moments.

The kundalini tends more often to stay very much awake as a direct
psychophysical experience that can be very troubling for Westerners who
do not understand the nature of what is happening to them. Our
conditioning and emphasis on ego development can be a great obstacle to
allowing kundalini to run its course in purifying and integrating our
whole being and may well make it appear as if it is actualy a negative
influence on the individual, in extreme cases giving all the symptoms of
psychosis, confusion and even nervous breakdown as a new identity tries
to emerge from the depths of one's being.

The full blown kundalini experience could be compared to the trauma and
drama of physical birth with all the crying, blood and mucus that goes
with it, only with kundalini this is a mental, emotional, psychic and
spiritual birth.

Haven't read Morris, but why not check out Lee Sannella MD - he wrote
The Kundalini Experience which is a fairly objective account of
kundalini from a liberal psychiatric point of view.

Good luck and good researching - Yogi Tom

Dear Nutmeg researchers,

It's good to know someone has their finger on the pulse of the really
big issues of the day and is ready to root out dangerous narcotics that
threaten the very fabric of our society. Let's ban nutmeg now. JUST SAY
NO TO NUTMEG......Nancy, Bill...are you there ?

Hi,

This is a true story
concerning events that never happened:
The story concerns a snake who we shall call OM
Now OM was a very strange serpent
totally invisible but very powerful
who used to travel up and down
and spiral around
When people heard of OM serpent
they decided that most things were probably caused by OM
If they had a headache
it was OM
If they heard voices
it was OM
If they had anything
it was OM
So OM serpent asked them;
"If all these things are me
then what is you?
But if all these are you
then what am I?"

Most Kind Regards

I'd say: Duality = Unity

As I sit here at home nursing a Karmic cold, the result of upsetting some
people last week, it's good to see some fun on the list.

Good Call Tom!
may I strongly suggest urgent research into pumpkin seeds with a view to a
worldwide ban.
