Hi Bob,

I know you were addressing Wim but I wanted to butt in and put in my 2cents worth....

I have received Shaktipat many times and I can't say that any of the transmitters had a perfect agenda...

Yes, Sai Baba has his detractors and I know some of the worst stories, but before I knew anything about him he gave me Shakitpat in
a vision a couple of times and some deep peace in my heart.

I have received Shaktipat from Guru Mayi in person in NY and her predecessor, Baba Muktananda. Baba gave me a powerful, intense
Shaktipat and he had been dead for quite awhile. I actually felt, saw
him, pick up ashes from the ground and rub them into my eyes in a
vision. (it did not feel good at all). It took months before the
gritty sound, sandy feeling was gone.

I know historically, Baba, was so full of k that when he walked by people they would fall to the ground the energy was so intense. (Not
unlike being 'slain in the spirit' as christian charismatics would
 say.)

Both Baba and Guru Mayi have their documented human ethical and moral misadventures too.

I first received Shaktipat from a western mystic named Larry Jensen. I don't think I would even call him a mystic. He is more of a
teacher. Some would call him morally challenged ;>
He had a roaring k awakening that laid him in bed for 9 months in a
 constant state of samadhi.

I have received Shaktipat from Mystress and other regular folks.

Muktananda wrote a little book on Kundalini. Can't be more than a 100 pages or so. For western thinking people like me it is the best
introduction and education into the eastern science of kundalini
 shakti and the guru principle.

It goes over the 4 or 5 ways people can receive Shaktipat and then talks about the different levels people can receive. There are levels
within levels within levels. It comes down to what are we ready to
 receive.

Despite all the exposures to different gurus I never fell into the guru/chela relationship. I had enough of that in my teens when i was
 a fundamental christian.

I too, can give Shaktipat, although it may be seen as 'less than' or not the 'real thing' by traditionalists. I can tell the difference in
my body between prana and shakti. I can control prana. With Shakti, I
ask. There is also a feeling difference.

My ability to 'do' shakitpat is based on my state of mind. I don't give it, really. I surrender as the vessel and She flows out and thru
me to the people around me.

Sometimes I am asked to do a meditation to raise kundalini. I am given a date and then 'something' takes over me. Maybe people call it
god/dess or holy spirit or whatever. I can feel my body and spirit
begin to ramp up to be prepared for that date. At the appointed date
I just have to let little self step out of the way. What happens is
just extraordinary. Sometimes the kundalini shakti is so fiery the
room can have all airconditioners running full blast and everyone is
sweating from the heat. Sometimes the opposite happens and the room
starts warm and ends up very cold, people shivering because Shakti is
present. And there are other types of experiences in between. Most
everyone is smiling and peaceful when they leave. Some of them tell
me later their lives are now different, for the better since then.

Sometimes, i find out later, i zap people thru email or telephone wires. Sometimes I can just concentrate on someone who is thousands
of miles away and they will go into a state of bliss that may last for
a week or longer. Sometimes I will be in meditation and the bliss
will be so overpowering I will email friends and aquaintances and ask
them if they would like to have some shakti. If they say yes, it
 flows from me to them.

Just recently a dear friend told me he had a dream where he was working with someone who was laying on massage table. I appeared to
him and he could feel the kundalini energy begin to move through him
to the person on the table. He told me the energy flow started with
me. I have appeared to other people in dreams also ( i seem to have a
 busy higher self).

I am not a saint, a vessel yes, a saint, no.

I know men, some friends, some not, who can manipulate the flow of kundalini in females for their dating benefit. Heh... I call that
being charming. I would call that 'placing a charm' on someone.

I know of a guy, who does the psychic fair circuit, while doing tarot card readings, will boost the female's k, hopefully for a little
 nookie and play later.

Is that Shaktipat? Probably not, but who am I to judge?

My point, probably, is kundalini-shakti flows everywhere is everywhere, is everything. In my experiences, some people just
naturally have it flow thru them stronger than others regardless of
spiritual discipline or even lack of it.

I learned a long time ago, not to judge the vessel that Shakti pours from. I will receive Her where and whenever I can find Her. She
 doesn't disappoint me.

just a little of my story.
