Footnote: I was not the only one who got an odd premonition when Rick Puravs posted this Prince song to the list as one of the first emails of the new year, after the list moved to the new host. It was New Year's Eve, 1999, so his posting it was not so odd in itself, and it is a familar tune. But the odd feeling was such that I was tempted to respond and ask him flipantly if he planned to die in 1999. Yet the feeling was such, I did not... what I felt was no joke and I preferred not to give it energy.
I am sure Rick did not know his own unconscious prophecy, as I felt it. Yet he did indeed die that year, unexpectedly of heart failure while waiting at the desk of his doctors office to get the nagging pains checked. His loss was deeply felt by all of the members, most especially his beloved Cher, who was also a member.
